is this across board. wanted to convert alliance pts into all family accounts today to book some business class tickets to europe. and surprise surprise all of a sudden cant be done anymore. 2 yrs ago i did it and no problem can get the miles to any account.

we only use main and supp cards for convenience and now i have a huge amount of miles which i can only dump in the main account holders account - just to transfer them afterwards and having to PAY for it or use the main holders enricht account for redemption (rendering the odd 50k miles in the accounts almost useless). i am pretty pissed.

which card offers good points to miles (and if possible some cashback) for a turnover of approx. 100-120,000 RM p.a. on the card?

Maybank 2 Premier

5x pts for any spending on Amex

2x pts for local spending with Visa, 5x pts for oversea spending with visa

conversion at 4300 pts to 1000 Enrich Miles

thanks - i called maybank and they told me i can only transfer into primary account holder's enrich account also. most of my spending is local - would i be able to pay with amex as easily as with visa? then it would be an interesting option. anyone can share their experience?

i manage to spend like 80% with Amex living in KV. Even if you are using the Visa I don't think any other card offer more than 2x points and have better conversion rate to EM than this Maybank.

thanks for the feedback. might bundle this with my alliance visa then due to the extra cash back but the EM conversion is really good even with 2x pts. really worth a consideration!

has anyone tried to redeem emirates codeshares with EM?

i wanted to book the return flight first and it was impossible to get any flights from dubai to kl in buisiness class during jan 2017 so i cant use the full return leg in business class. very annoying.
I checked with emirates and they told me no problem to upgrade with their own programm or redeem in full.

now i wonder what to do with th EM miles that i wanted to use. partial booking of the leg makes no sense since i loose baggage allowance. it seems my only option is to do a full redemption in economy class then sad.gif

Is there a smarter/better way to fly to euroe (FRA/HAM) and blow my EM on business class for the return leg? Would appreciate any pointers. It used to be so easy, I never had to think too much over my options ... hope one of you guys can show me a smarter way.

I've not booked with Enrich miles before, but I frequently cannot find availability on Emirates if booking using Alaska miles either. As usual Emirates will put partner redemption on a lower priority compared to their own program.

Google up and read what others say on flyertalk too.

i figured as much and its understandable. since i am flexible on the return leg i will take any available flight they can offer this time. what is the best way to accrue skywards miles in malaysia? there seems to be no offer for that around or did i miss anything? right now i am collecting way too many treats points which are ment to spend on EM and no good way to spend them.

A few cards in Malaysia will transfer to Emirates Skywards but their redemption rates are horrible IMO. I remember I think the likes of Citibank and Amex Membership Rewards will transfer to Skywards.

Given a choice though I'd still stick with Maybank Treatpoints and transfer to Asia Miles for Qatar or Cathay or Japan Airlines redemption.
