I was referring to the taxes you have to pay even if you use full miles redemption on the kul Mel sector....if cash, it shows a few hundred in taxes.....if redemption, it's 2.7k....

Their pricing based redemption just got worse, now they have stopped discounting their fares....

You can to online check in 48hrs before departure, and at that time you can select your seats free.....if you check in quick, there are often lots of seats to choose from....

400 for 2 pax return ie 200/pax return....is that possible?....

I booked the day before the promotion started....and can report I did receive triple sectors and miles....

That will be a bridge too far....

redeem for a golden lounge entry, or cash vouchers....

or if you are travelling soon, use cash and miles and offset some of your fare......

it is not worth transferring miles, too expensive charges....unlike qantas where you can transfer free.....

For Europe, particularly LHR, Asia miles would be the best option....

I use my miles for Australia, so restricted to sq or MH.....and sq is better, more flight options and less miles needed....

Mh enrich is really wreak now....you only get good redemption when they have a sale....as the miles required is directly linked to the cost of revenue tickets....

Sq often wait list is not booked well ahead....mh almost always can get seats, but expensive....

I never wait list, as I need confirmation to plan other aspects of the trip...always choose flights/days with confirmed seats...

Do not transfer or buy enrich miles.... not worth at all....

You can only redeem your cc points into enrich miles for yourself....not to others....

Then you can redeem miles into tickets for anyone, not just yourself....

So there is no need to attempt to redeem points into someone else's enrich account....

In that case it's ok, since it's only 10k miles....and the qsuite is a one in a lifetime experience....

Using KF to redeem TK j class?....25k is one way or return?....even one way if very good.....

Redemption miles not valid for calculating status....you need elite miles or sectors....if short of 10k miles quite difficult to catch up....needs to fly long haul.....if short of sectors easier.....do a few sector runs....can do cheaply to nearby domestic destinations .....

I did receive some notice earlier, but iirc, it involves converting something like a million or more points ....as a one off upgrade....not as elite miles contributing towards status....

Even with the best cc points to miles card, ie Maybank vi, 1 mil miles is rm1mil spend...,

Very few people will have that kind of spending....so I don't see that as a viable way of getting gold status for mere mortals...

You need 50k elite miles or 50 elite sectors within a calender year to qualify for gold...

Validity is actually for 15 months, as you will be given the status until end march the next year....

It allows you to enter and bring a guest, into any mh golden lounges, irrespective of which class you are flying....

But more interesting, as also oneworld sapphire, you can use any oneworld lounges anywhere, if you are flying oneworld airlines....

So I have used it to access ba lounge in Changi, and qf lounges in Changi and Australia, and China Eastern in PVG..., flying mh and qf.....the qf lounge in Changi is pretty good....

The only way to reach 1mil spend is to use for business purposes....
