Ferrari group shot with F430 Scuderia.

i like pict no 1 and 4..nice..teach me lah..

Haha no probs Its basically a slow shutter picture and I used an LED torch to "paint" the car. Try 8 sec exposure and F22. Since I've got no defined light source so I need to "create" the light. Start painting yo car with a torch light (hover it above the area of the car you want to paint) once your dslr starts capturing. Post your results here when you're done if can. Good luck!

No problem =) These are all 1:18 scaled models. You the range of Ferrari's they have here Only the Ferrari's are Hotwheels rest are from other diecast makers.

Real car would be a challenge for me if ever get the chance to shoot cause you cant just move the car like moviing the diecast

You can shoot in some car parks with lesser cars? but of course things are a lot harder to do.

sp6068, the problem with your shoot is that you're careless in the details.

to the inexperienced eyes - all things actually look perfect.

let's take #48 for example - I can see your surroundings on the right side. not good. find a big white or black cloth or card board.

look at the bonnet of #47 and the front of #46

same goes to #42, #43, #44.

and notice how you didn't face such problem on the low key shots?

reflective surfaces can break your photo. you could customize a tent to improve the output.

One of the reason I don't usually shoot under high key due to no dedicated lighting and material to shoot. I shoot with what I have. I'm looking around for a decent inexpensive light tent and a day light lamp to further improve. Let this be the start.

46-47 was shot on top of my swing with a white board as the base and bg. 42-44 on top of my dining table lol. The lights were just the everyday florescent light.

your lighting is not an issue. shoot RAW and color correct it.

just be careful of the reflective surfaces.

Oops sorry just saw this comment. Well maybe could try that later on because now I'm still studying so yeah lol.

So, I went shopping @ Ikea and bought myself a new lamp. The pics below are far my FIRST attempt using a proper light source that does not involve light painting whatsoever. CnC are most welcome. 2 white boards as base and background and white paper as diffuser

Is the temperature of both lights different?

Because top of the car is now orange, but the bottom part of the car is red.

I'm not using daylight lamp. Just a temporary tungsten bulb. I use my camera's WB to change the colour. 2nd pic I've used different settings after process in Ps.

Nope. Just those daylight energy saving bulbs will do. Mine is 25 watts bulb if not mistaken. The earlier pics was using the classic bulb.

Awesome pictures as usual, ever try like photographing your own car? you have the potential imo.

Yes I've taught about it before, but unfortunately I don't have the resources to shoot on such a large scale. It would be a real challenge for me since on a small scale it's easier to setup and stuff.

You need an empty dark place and a softbox with continuous lighting only imo.
