Hi guys. Sorry for the late reply as I am busy with my time table. For first timer I would suggest for the Tabur Hill - West Route first instead of the East as the East will be quite difficult. If anyone free on the weekday, I will be willing to take you around for the hike. Just message me and I will return as soon as possible.
Added on March 15, 2010, 8:45 pm QUOTE(jkp @ Mar 14 2010, 11:34 AM) Hey there all Hi Jamie. Good to hear that you are into this hike and I would organize a trip as soon as possible. Weather on the 14th at first does not look good but nothing is impossible. Here are some of the pictures where I took during my trip from the Tabur East. Just drop me a mail and I will be free this weekday if you are able to get a rest day except for Thursday as I am heading for the Hot Air Balloon event held at Putrajaya. I would not advice to hike on weekend because the number of crowd might slow down the hike progress. I'm a 29 year old brit working out here for a few months, found out about this hike and would really love to go. The weather didn't look to good today so I thought it best to wait. Is anyone around and up for it next weekend? I'd like some people to climb with as I'll be on my own otherwise, and everything I read says thats not a good idea! Thanks in advance Jamie ![]() ![]() ![]() This post has been edited by aidono: Mar 15 2010, 08:45 PM |

QUOTE(Andrewhajime @ Apr 20 2010, 12:19 PM) You might consider a few. Gunung Nuang, Gunung Chenuang, Gunung Lepo, Gunung Lubuk Tedung, Gunung Tok Wan, and Gunung Kutu. If want to go further south to Seremban you can try Gunung Datuk and Gunung Angsi. |

QUOTE(etigge @ Apr 25 2010, 08:21 PM) Is G.Nuang difficult to climb? I am interested in the camping trip, but I am afraid I might slow down the group. Where is Nuang actually, sorry I am more interested in camping than hiking. Gunung Nuang is located at Hulu Langat region and there are three ways to go up this mountain. People will normally use the Pangsson way or travel a bit further up to Janda Baik. If to say it as difficult, it would not be that difficult until you reach Kem Pacat. There are two camping site at Gunung Nuang - Kem Lolo and Kem Pacat. Kem Lolo have small falls where you can enjoy a chill time on your way down to Pangsson and Kem Pacat used to be a leech camp but seldom encounter them. What I do not like about Kem Pacat is the buzzing bees. They would not sting, just that they are attracted to your sweat. Give it a try and experience the night at Gunung Nuang.Added on April 26, 2010, 7:43 am QUOTE(jeycjy @ Apr 25 2010, 01:20 PM) Climbed yesterday and this dog was around about the half way hike . Well its sure that this dog got foods from some hikers or the dog is guardian of the Bukit ? This dog can be seen most of the time when I hike Bukit Tabur - West Route. If not mistaken, they named this dog Brownie. Quite a friendly dog and at some point it can follow you to certain peak (1-10). Added on April 26, 2010, 7:43 am Do you know the starting point from Janda Baik? this is the first time i hear climbers can go up via Janda Baik and would like to give it a try.. [/quote] It is hard for me to explain the starting point from Janda Baik as we need to pass by a orang asli village and nearby there is a stream. Not an easy track as we will face same terrain like what we faced at Hulu Langat. Along the path you will encounter lots of leeches and scorpion. If at a non-stop trekking pace, you can reach the peak around 3.5 hours. When you reach at the peak from Hulu Langat. you will realize that there's a path at the other end and that's the route from Janda Baik. If we are coming from Hulu Langat, the beirut (metal tent) will be on our right and the path from Janda Baik will be at the left corner. Added on May 3, 2010, 8:28 amI hope this blog might help you up if you are interested going to Nuang from Janda Baik. http://shiekblog.blogspot.com/2010/01/conq...janda-baik.html http://malaysiamen.posterous.com/sunday-28...ang-via-janda-b Sorry for the late reply as I just back from hiking. QUOTE(Devil4life @ Oct 27 2011, 11:04 AM) Anyone going this Saturday? I'm afraid of the recent weather might make the route harder. I read about hill in this thread. Is it advisable to go this weekend? I'll be going in a group with mix of hikers and non-hikers. Saturday what time? And which Tabur you are referring to?I personally never set foot here before. Only been to Bukit Saga/Ah Pek hill, Broga, Gasing which is considered the peanuts right? Is it ok for me? I do play sports on weekly basis. Planning to train for my Mount Kinabalu next year. I'm afraid of the rock climbing part as I have set foot on Broga which I accidentally slip on the last part (about 80 degress slope?) due to slippery causing me to slide down the bottom from top (minor gash only though, but sliding down part was scary as there's a lot of other hikers and I couldn't brake at all, taking out 1 fella unintentionally, no injury toward her) |

If they have 2 experienced hikers then you should be alright.
For me, all 3 Taburs' are easy. If your friend refer you to West, please take extra caution. Lots of accident occurred here. |
