Hey there

Thanks for the response Aidono.

My problem with going in the week is that I have to be at work in Damansara. Not much way out of that. Any interest in going very early one weekend morning?

Jamie

Hi guys. Sorry for the late reply as I am busy with my time table. For first timer I would suggest for the Tabur Hill - West Route first instead of the East as the East will be quite difficult. If anyone free on the weekday, I will be willing to take you around for the hike. Just message me and I will return as soon as possible.

Hi Jamie. Good to hear that you are into this hike and I would organize a trip as soon as possible. Weather on the 14th at first does not look good but nothing is impossible. Here are some of the pictures where I took during my trip from the Tabur East. Just drop me a mail and I will be free this weekday if you are able to get a rest day except for Thursday as I am heading for the Hot Air Balloon event held at Putrajaya. I would not advice to hike on weekend because the number of crowd might slow down the hike progress.

You might consider a few. Gunung Nuang, Gunung Chenuang, Gunung Lepo, Gunung Lubuk Tedung, Gunung Tok Wan, and Gunung Kutu. If want to go further south to Seremban you can try Gunung Datuk and Gunung Angsi.

Is G.Nuang difficult to climb? I am interested in the camping trip, but I am afraid I might slow down the group. Where is Nuang actually, sorry I am more interested in camping than hiking. wub.gif

Gunung Nuang is located at Hulu Langat region and there are three ways to go up this mountain. People will normally use the Pangsson way or travel a bit further up to Janda Baik. If to say it as difficult, it would not be that difficult until you reach Kem Pacat. There are two camping site at Gunung Nuang - Kem Lolo and Kem Pacat. Kem Lolo have small falls where you can enjoy a chill time on your way down to Pangsson and Kem Pacat used to be a leech camp but seldom encounter them. What I do not like about Kem Pacat is the buzzing bees. They would not sting, just that they are attracted to your sweat. Give it a try and experience the night at Gunung Nuang.

This dog can be seen most of the time when I hike Bukit Tabur - West Route. If not mistaken, they named this dog Brownie. Quite a friendly dog and at some point it can follow you to certain peak (1-10). For more info, read the http://bukittabur.blogspot.com/

It is hard for me to explain the starting point from Janda Baik as we need to pass by a orang asli village and nearby there is a stream. Not an easy track as we will face same terrain like what we faced at Hulu Langat. Along the path you will encounter lots of leeches and scorpion. If at a non-stop trekking pace, you can reach the peak around 3.5 hours. When you reach at the peak from Hulu Langat. you will realize that there's a path at the other end and that's the route from Janda Baik. If we are coming from Hulu Langat, the beirut (metal tent) will be on our right and the path from Janda Baik will be at the left corner.
