I do have MCE05. But I'm curious to know what you all do for the upscaling and refining of the videos. I tried ffdshow and it seems that my pc can;t handle the stress

Actually everything is fine until I use Avisynth. Everything slow down. beyond that point.

Anyway, thanks for the informations. I guess i need to make more research on how to make DVD look better on my machine

What graphic card is that? For me, it is better to have a card that support HD to take out the load from CPU

Hi,

I have a PC built and planning to turn it into a HTPC. Mine is considered not really a new set but still quite a powerful set.

Am just wondering that if i am playing movies using Mplayerc (downloaded the K-lite codec pack), how do i fully utilize this program to tweak my picture quality to the optimum level?

Thanks alot

Tweak the quality with ffdshow. But beware that you need a very powerful pc to get the best out of it.

QX6700 with only a HD4670??? i take it u dont game alot.... laugh.gif

actually ur rig is more than enough....dont even need to do tweaking for 1080p movies.

most of the "tweaking" involves offloading the processing onto the GC for 1080p movies to help reduce the CPU usage.

no need to worry la....ur rig no need to do any tweaking oso and it should be able to play smoothly

Yup, and that's called DXVA. And that is where AVIVO comes into the scene.

For ffdshow, I recommends you go for post processing, blur and noise reduction, noise, sharpen and resize.

Oh ya, DXVA does not work with ffdshow.
