I think both threads are different from each other. Any PC can be used as HTPC (even full tower), but not all PCs can be called ITX form factor.
Just my 2 cents.
PC Audio HTPC, anyone doing this?

Er. what's with the merger of ITX thread and HTPC? Both are of 2 different things as explained above.

QUOTE(Matrix @ Dec 31 2008, 12:45 PM) Aiya...mod killed my thread... HereThere's more junk thread in this forum but didn't get the axe, but mine kena already....what is this man...ISA ah?? I wanna complain this mod!!! Where do i file complaints? I also feel that it's not fair for the mod to axe the thread just to suit his liking. There's a very valid reason for the ITX thread to be there. |

I think someone with better hardware knowledge should be the mod instead of him.
Since a mini-ITX thread is not allowed, i guess we will have to discuss anything related to mini-ITX here, even if it doesn't have anything to do with HTPC. BTW, JW 780G mobo suitable for a mini-itx gaming rig? |

QUOTE(OC4/3 @ Jan 1 2009, 02:40 AM) Err............Thing is he is not familiar with mini itx thingy mah I know he's not familiar, therefore we explained to him. However, he ignored our explanation and went straight to merge the thread. All he/me play is big big stuff, the bigger the better, opposite of what you guys like BTW,everyone in lyn, have a happy new year and another good year of benching None of us here knows everything, therefore we are here to learn. I dun think it's appropriate for a moderator to have such arrogant attitude. |

QUOTE(bryanyeo87 @ Jan 2 2009, 09:30 PM) Yeah i was sleeping. I need sleep yanno, i dont survive off batteries. Well coffee does the trick Generally, but not all. Also, most people tend to build small HTPC with micro-ATX form factor, not mini-itx.I have in mind to move all fan club threads and all talks like such, because it is more of an Q&A, to hardware Q&A. What say you? Since, it is abusing the post count system. Well, as long as I see it, i will investigate, alternatively, hit the report button and the mods of hardware will take action if neccessary if you feel the thread needs to be looked at. Anyway, it wasnt me who merged the threads. But then again, HTPC generally refers to a small little thing of a pc. Mini-itx was used mostly as download rig or car PC in the past (today also). However, with the invent of powerful chipsets with multimedia capabilities, its usage as HTPC is becoming more and more popular. Therefore, i strongly agree to create another thread solely dedicated for mini-itx. This post has been edited by hypermax: Jan 3 2009, 01:18 AM |
