My laptop Specs are given below

Acer Aspire 7720G

C2D T7500 2.2 GHZ 4MB L2 cache
320 GB HD
2GB DDR 2 667 Ram
17inch display
GeForce 8600M GT 512 MB DDR2 RAM Graphics with turbocache

My cheapest solution is I buy the LG BD ROM as i mentioned Above and buy a 5.25inch enclosure or SATA to USB 2.0 cable to make it external.
Can it work? Can it play Blu Rays and HDDVDs Smoothly?? without lag any reviews or proofs? then this would coolest but i have doubts.
Now you ppl might say why dont i buy an external bd drive instead, LG has one costs 370 usd but it doesnt play HDDVDs only blu ray and
its a burner also.

Another Question is Can 8600M Gt 512 MB GDDR2 support Smooth playback or not? It should coz many HP laptops has BLu ray Drive with 8400MGS rclxub.gif
but my question is when i play 720p or 1080p rips of mkv movie files in some media players it lags and pixelation and in some it plays smoothly. But this is MKV file

[SIZE=7]MKV Decoding and Blu Ray Decoding are different right??[SIZE=7] So can i make the drive external? and will it work?

well today i finally figured out how to do hardware accelaration on my 8600mgt laptop and it uses only 5 to 15% of cpu sometimes below 5% smooooooooooooooth playback
i am using vista ultimate 64 bit thats right 64 bit
i posted in a lot of forums but no help in this forum got help using pure codec but sound in laptop speakers is awfully low. vlc was best with sound sound was really loud but lags if vlc uses harware acceleration it would be perfect.

i tried nvidia pure decoder it doesnt work, tried coveavc doesnt work, but then i installed klite mega codec pack and when i was installing it there was some DXVA options and dts audio options i enabled those and i ran iron man 1080p mkv shockingly the cpu usage dropped but there was no video and only audio then i found the way because it was using DXVA.

i saw which filters were enabled and transformed and applied in my cccp codec and then it worked process is similar to what demeter posted but u have to transform a lot of filters and enable some filters.
The only problem is volume of sound in vlc sound is awesome you dont need speakers or headphones for laptop.
In MPC-HC in cccp sound is better than pure codec.
in pure codec sound is awfully low

is there a better way to increase the sound in MPC HC??

now as i done DXVA with my 2gb ram is it necessary to upgrade to 4gb ram?
firefox and vlc and vista uses a lot of ram and cpu usage a lot if i upgrade to 4 gig will the cpu usage be low any experience?
