i still prefer idigi plan

Well, each to their own. Some do love Celcom's better coverage, especially its wide DC-HSDPA.

For plans pricing, of course Digi wins hands down. But contract tenure on the other hand is a bit sweat.gif

Celcom will throtte only your data usage if excess the limit, no bill shock like maxis

If u take 2 years contract, you will get extra discount and subsidy about 400 more

Nope. Last time I'm subscribing to Celcom Biz, I've called their rep to ask the same question. They said that their new policy since Oct is they'll block the internet altogether when reach quota for most plans.

And that gets pretty ironic since the new Maxis policy since Dec is that they'll no longer bill-shock™ for plans above 1 GB. They'll throttle down the connection speed 3 times.

No bill shock (due to data plan)= Yes
Seems like Maxis has taken Celcom perk(throttle) & Celcom make the opposite move (but at least they stop the data plan)

Well, that's also the reason why lots of newer Celcom plans do have much juicier quota in the first place.

Hi everybody!

I am planning to take iphone plan under celcom. And i realize the contract give benefits more compared to buy outright. I also planning to take 2-yrs contract since i can get cheaper price (rm73) for 3gb data as compared to normal data plan (rm98, rm40 + rm58 for 3gb data). However, my concern is on bill shocking like how it happen to maxis. Just to ask, could it happen to celcom? I'm still a student and just afraid it will happen to me  hmm.gif

And in your opinion,  is it worth to get 2 yrs contract under celcom?

Thanks!

I'd recommend you to go with 1 year contract either on Celcom or Maxis.

Divide those to 1 year, the 2-yr contract doesn't provide better value compared to 1-yr. You better off buying a newer iPhone next year and renew your contract then, that'll give you more saving. Plus, in case you're thinking of buying the next iPhone, you need to terminate the contract and pay for steep ETF. For Maxis that can be a bit different, since you can just apply for contract extension.

Personally, I'm thinking of 2-yr contracts as way to save for working people who got its bill paid by their company. Since you're a student, that should be totally out of picture.

Hi can someone explain to me bout total saving stated for celcom plan rm901,celcom rebate 490(i knew it offered by celcom and will  rebate rm25 per month for 20months) .how bout device discount rm411?didnt understand
*
Take example for 16GB model. That means for the device with RRP of RM2199, they're putting a pricetag of RM1788.

Well, don't get jumpy2 yet. You still need to pay the bolded price on the top part of that chart. The advance payment will be used to deduct your monthly bill.

Remembered last time some company here are handing out iPods to their workers (iPods are the 'in' thing that time), and those iPods made their way to internet haha.

btw gonna ask for existing Celcom subbers, are your internet being cut or only throttled once quota is reached? Got a bit confused lately.

I asked when I bought my iphone with them.. Was told that they will cut off the data instead of throttling the speed. But the last time I exceeded my data limit they didnt stop my data maybe it'll take a lil while.

Last time throttle. Now stop straight away unless top-up, havent exp it yet, but thats what being told by celcom lady at their branch

I was told the same thing by Celcom CS last time albeit that's when I'm going to subscribe Celcom Biz, but haven't experienced any cut off yet. Looks like they're a bit forgiving.
