Pls remember that Arsenal is a football club first & foremost, not a business entity to be put up a stock exchange. & dun start about being glory hunter & all that stuff... some of us here have supported Arsenal since before U were born.

Tell me something, when U talk about football with Ur friends, do U talk about winning games, trophies & championships, or do we talk about our share prices, our current investments, the way ticket prices have been increased to be the most expensive in BPL when the fans can't even brag about winning the League Cup (or whatever it's called now) ?

U dun have to respond to this post becoz I'm not interested to know what U think.

in the end, no one knows what's happening in the club. are we really that cash-strapped that we can only resort to picking unknown gems and polishing them into a class player that later leaves due to lack of ambition?

there's probably something we dont know that causes wenger to not spend. i think he did the best with what's available to him. i do think that additions are necessary, given that schedules are getting tight, players will start getting jaded and eventually injuring themselves.

I do remember that Arsenal is a football club. So what about FC? Does FC means we need to ignore every other aspect and just win all the matches? So what does supporting Arsenal since before I were born got to do with this? Does supporting Arsenal longer makes you the only one with a say?

Of course when talking with friends about football we do talk about winning games. So if AFC lost I got bantered. So? It's all part of the game. Winning and losing. If you just want to get 1 up over your friend because of winning then I have nothing to say.

and there will be always fans that screams buy this buy that as if they are playing football manager 2013 and do a better job than AW haha

I'm not saying AW is untouchable but with AFC's policy, who can thrive under it?

Glory hunter or not, many of us started supporting the club due to that. It's what the initial means of putting your support and faith in a club. This initial means then prolongs "relationship" or bond between the club and individual and has resulted the fans we are now.

In general, I'd like to use the word "balance". A balance between fighting for glories and keeping the club healthy.

Trophy is important but it's more important for me to see the club showing the ambition to fight for it. No matter how unfair or how bad things are going on, in the end of the day, trophy will be the most satisfying results for the fans.... and the very first step of getting it is its ambition first. This is where our club has fared badly. Not that Arsenal does not show ambition, we do when we get players like Arteta and Cazorla... but this is NOT enough as compared to the players who have left us and how the competition has become stiffer than ever.

Keeping the club healthy - I guess it's self-explained.
Just to add some points, the club mgmt has a role to play in taking necessary risk while keeping the club alive. Having said that, we should go and spend on areas that could improve the squad, could improve the ambition of the club for glories.

It would be the transfer budget, at least that is what I think.

For all the board members that keep saying we have money to spend, somehow I am skeptical with it. I mean, who doesn't want to spend on good players when there is budget right?

I think I might be overboard with the 'glory hunter' part but I just want to let people know that there is still fans that cares about the financial side of the club wink.gif

As a fans you cant accept what is Arsenal facing right now, why cant you see the point now? Arsenal is going down and i am very sure. Currently as a fan, i dont see any potential that Arsenal is going to be the top 4 this season if they dont buy the right players.
Yes maybe this theory apply to the olden days, but look at the top club in EPL Chelsea, Man C, and Man U. They are always prepare for every single game, look at their current squad with ours.
If we want to win, we have to change. If not forever we will remain at middle club.
Simple as that, if Arsenal don't coupe with other top clubs. Probably they will lose on their fans base (younger generation), ticket price and etc.
Just face the fact brother, we don't have any good leader to lead us anymore unlikely RVP last year.

the thing is, how long are we to wait for the financial side to be stable? isnt it alraedy stable and dont we have more than extra to spend on players?
there's always a limit to everything, YES, AW and the Board has done well to maintain a self-sustaining club, saving up on transfers, selling more than buying..and putting a hefty 60quids per tix..
but all said n done, with a financially stable club, what is next? wouldnt a club with such stature want trophies? or even have the slightest decency to show that we want a trophy?
it is well known tat AW has 50-70mil in the kitty where we can easily dip and get 1 or 2 great players but no, he doesnt, he talks bout FINANCIAL FAIR PLAY and CONTROLLING PLAYERS WAGES...

to call someone a "glory hunter" i guess is irrelevant. If u call a fan whose club spent millions n millions n have not won a single cup after 1 or 2 years, now tats a GLORY HUNTER. but if u call a Gooner, who have been cheering cheering or 7 freaking seasons after the Great Invincibles period, a GLORY HUNTER, now tats doesnt make sense at all.

tat said, I guess its fking high time AW and the guys get their act together...and buck up.
Look at Spurs!! and everton!! they are on top of us now...and Spurs are still trying to improve their squad!

now tat makes me mad.gif

Ayeee...if there is no stability in the club, how are we even going to compete year in year out?

we don't know the true figure behind how much the club is making and such
so our discussion here may be a lil vague
but based on some articles i've searched we are clearing of the stadium debt at an impressive rate.

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

arguably the club is doing alright, earning while clearing off the debt for the stadium and such
the stadium is probably taken for granted by some of you lot i guess
club builds a new beautiful stadium etc..and we just feast on it with our eyes on the 390m pound project,
its free so who the F cares mentality.jpg right? sleep.gif

so you wanna take some credit? that's fine ill give you some,
you probably had been forced to spent hundreds of bucks, some by the thousands
on Arsenal jerseys, travels and such,
WOWZER! you probably contributed to huge sum of Arsenal FC player salary,
perhaps you've also helped in building a seat at the Emirates stadium,
You Sir! now have every right and every power at how Arsenal should be right now sleep.gif

as a fan, perhaps there is some right at practicing, trophies is all that matter
but put us in their shoes the the management and financial team, we have to think otherwise don't we?
perhaps from a fan pov it's some what right that trophies its all that matters,
but at the same time don't you think its just plain selfish if we only think that way?
feel like an ultimate leecher, extremist glory hunter..whatever terms you can call it

being understanding and sensible to the club financial stability can be manipulated into being "Noble and don't care about winning at all?"?
epic mindf***ed, not sure if the joke is on who

if one thinks that financial stability doesn't matter to them at all, it doesn't matter how many xx years you've watch football la,
to me you are no different then a kid that just started watch football,
any offense taken,i am sorry

arsene too stubborn liao.. i believe arsene have the power to buy players, just he don wan to buy only... if he no power then might as well just leave, the club aint giving fans and player glory, how to attract player.. how to win trophy.. arsenal will become like liverpool, stuck at europa league, or worst, mid table liao.. stuck there few seasons then i believe they no money come malaysia liao, no point support them when they don give fans anything while we support them, buy jersey, buy merchandise to feed the cronies up there.

This situation makes me think arsenal is like BN, we fan is rakyat, feed them money, they use money for their ownselves and worst, never do anything to make fans happy. #blackscarfafc

i totally suppork this movement http://www.blackscarfafc.co.uk/#/our-arsenal/4542584551

Sigh, I don't think those top players want to play for Arsenal

Even if we are willing to pay some hefty amount to get them, they still won't come to Arsenal.

Why? Arsenal isn't an attractive club anymore,
Since we sell RVP(which is the top scorer of EPL last season), there are no influential player in Arsenal.
Podolski? No, Giroud? No, Even Walcott and Wilshere also is not the players that can influence big names to play with Arsenal.

I believe those top player doesn't care much about money, they just want the good team with the good player...

We already lost in battle to get David Villa(Barca didn't want to release him)

Tbh, it is not 100% Arsene's fault that Fabregas, Thierry Henry, RVP, Nasri were being sold, those players just aren't so loyal to Arsenal. They didn't think Arsenal is a big club. If they think Arsenal is the big/best club they won't go for another team

Henry? Yes Henry... He is not as loyal Bergkamp, but the situation of Henry is much similar to RVP, Henry want to go to Barcelona, RVP go to Manchester United, Reason, to go for a better club

Still remember Ajax Amsterdam? We are exactly having problems like them, selling top players to'better and bigger' clubs
