With half a year to run down on the contract, I doubt clubs will come aproach him in January unless they are in dire need of striker to score goals. People would rather wait for him to become free agent and we're unlikely to sell him given our inefficiency in final third.

It's pretty much back to the kind of performance we had before the Newcastle game, relying on luck to score goals and had a ridiculously low amount of shot on target.

We should probably look into getting our defense fixed first. There has to be some reasons why our defense concedes so many sloppy goals this season. The only reason why we didn't concede more than last season is probably because of the luck we had. The game against Wigan was a prime example of that as Wigan kept penetrating our defense with poor finish that render them goalless.
I realised that everytime people run over our defense, Arteta was nowhere to be seen, sure he has to make some critical last man tackle as a DMF? |

Spurs signings really baffle me. The midfielders they have bought in alone would suffice for probably the many years to come and yet they still keep buying midfielders. Now they have Sigurdsson, Livermore, Dempsey and Holtby who all play in the same position.

That's why RvP is the top striker in EPL. He can always be the last resort to save the team and he did exactly that to bail us out of Europa League last season.
Now he's pushing ManUni to champions and saving them from cup games literally every game. The Southampton game, West Brom game, City Game and yesterday's night game to name a few. However, I don't think it's right to blame Wenger. We wanted to keep him and probably tried everything but he just wanted to leave for higher pay and trophy. |

Weird line up... Maybe we will see a new formation today...
Unless Ramsey is playing left wing? |

I think Wenger still has a year plus to run down on his contract, which means that he will at least manage us next season unless he is fired.
Being rational I'd say that this season will probably be the season we fall out of top 4. There could be two outcomes - Wenger given more to spend in the summer and he splashes the cash or he is fired. The former seems more likely but given his prudence in spending and frugality, I think we will still be getting average players in. Truth be told, there's really not a player in the market that we can get to replace the quality of Van Persie at the moment, except Falcao which is way too expensive or Neymar, who's still raw and sure enough won't join us when there are so many clubs out there wanting him. In fact, why will players join us if we drop out of CL (likely to be the case) and our ridiculous socialist wage structure? Either way, it seems bad enough for Wenger. I can definitely see that Wenger is leaving next season though. He's had so much criticism in recent years that I think he's probably very tired already and he's not winning anything at all at the moment. He will either leave for the good of the team or leave due to pressure of the job UNLESS he wins something next season or the board/fans really want to keep him at all cost, given the unhappiness of fans now, this seems unlikely. True, Jack still has some way to go before he can regain his full fitness. His passes were heavy in a few occasions last match and squandered our chances to score goal.

Why don't we try to get Stefan Kiebling from Leverkusen? With all the overhyped strikers around he's managed to keep a low profile despite being the topscorer of Bundesliga, might come at great value.

We need someone with penetration desperately and at the moment it seems that only Jack is doing the job at the midfield. For some reason, Cazorla looks like he's afraid of the sea of defenders in front of him recently and always ended up passing sideways or backwards while Diaby and Wilshere do what they like most that is pushing forward all the time but their dribbling and passing kind of failed them. Mike Dean was apparently trigger happy yesterday to have given out so many cards, I thought according to the rules Kosc had to be sent off but sometimes you just can't do that at 9th minute of the game can you? Giving out a penalty and a red card at such time to the English champions is just killing off the game.
I don't think Walcott is the man to blame, he doesn't get supply from the midfield at all. The problem with Walcott is that he hasn't played there for long and he doesn't know how to play it properly yet. Firstly he has problem with hold-up play when he's surrounded due to his physique. Giroud's hold-up play is much better due to his stronger physique and taller size overall plus his years of experience playing there. In the case like this, you have to rely a lot on your movements for which I can say Walcott's positioning is pathetic. All of the time he's just waiting statically in the box surrounded by defenders, it's not like he can head the ball or do a bicycle kick. He certainly has to learn how to move his lazy ass to get the ball and attack, not just waiting for people to feed him like Giroud cause he has no chance of scoring a header. You however can't fault his finishing as I think he's currently the best finisher in the team, sad to say as can be seen in the game yesterday - when he got the chance from Ramsey, he had a good shot, other players will probably shoot right at Hart. It baffles me as to why we aren't playing Rosicky yet. To me he's probably the most imaginative and penetrative midfielder we have now and that's exactly what we need. We are too cautious when it comes to passing. The other player who can slit up defense is Ramsey just because he's creative like what he's shown yesterday but I'm not really sure about him. He played well yesterday and I don't think Wenger should ever play him on the flanks anymore because it's not his natural position. I wonder will he ever get back to the old him but I think when you want to play him you and you want him to not flop as much midfield is probably the place. Undeniably though his skills fail him fail him from time to time when he wants to do a perfect through pass and get dispossessed instead. Still, we really need someone who can bring the ball forward... and where's our long ball? After Song left I have not seen a single long ball anymore. It seems odd when you have someone like Giroud you can rely on to get the ball. Cazorla as usual showed glimpse of brilliance but was missing a big part of the game. I don't know what happened to him but recently he's flopped just as much as Ramsey. |
