tried 205/50/16... on my persona with R3 rims... not bad tyre. Good grip in cornering and wet road. Heavy rain tried with 140km/h no issue , water puddle go like bawse thanks to big longkang.

Threadwear not sure , can consider a bit noisy.

the tyre threadwear is 280 only, which is quite thin...i'm still in doubt wether it can stand heavy rain.

Last weekend , i came back from PJ ..in east coast highway 3 cars skidded and crashed to the rail. really scary when heavy rain .

I'm currently using Achilles ATR with threadwear 400, big longkang ..but i dont plan to use them long, maybe near to 50% then change.Considering Nexen N8000 now.Just heavy downpour in the highway got me worried.

N8000 a good budget tyre.

If anybody intend to try Neuton NT8000 , i suggest u take Nexen N8000 do check the tyres before u take it because some batch might have problem i think.

Just fitted my 3rd sets of Nexen N8000 in 2015 at QuickSave USJ.

My previous set lasted over 40, 000 KM with pretty nice grip in wet ... thanks to it's four deep grooves!

No major complains for normal city driving ...and IMHO tyre performance result varies from drivers due to different driving habit smile.gif

Just changed a front set with these Nexen N8000. (205/55/16) First 50km review:

1) The car (Exora Turbo) felt significant reduce its road noise. Previous with ori set GT Radial BAX2 which already famous with its roaring sound.

2) The grip is there when did some 'S' sharp cornering. However just tested with short trip journey after hv it changed. Will drop a comment again after the tyres really 'brake in" together with the wet grip test soon.

3) Felt steering lighter and more responsive towards the road.

Using Nexan n8000 225/40/18 on my vw golf. Overall is all rounder average tyre, cant really attack corner like my previous PS3. Felt a bit noisy. NVH is ok. For that price is quite best bang for buck.

did you try high speed ie. >160km/h on straighline in highway for e.g ? I am not sure what is the cause of the issue, I feel that on that speed my steering produce some free-play - not as firm as my original run-flat .. I haven't done the alignment after changing the tires (don't trust those guys in kedai papan and have yet to have time to go to my regular alighmnet shop), not sure if this is the problem? Anyone.?

Yup. Exactly as my situation. This is just budget tyre for me although it is categorize as Ultra High Performance Tyre. I even went to 1 of the best balancing & alignment shop which is Sunway MPS Auto to fix it but the unstable issue still there. The max I tried is 180km/h but dont dare go further anymore. Previously with PS3 i have tried 220 km/h but it is still stable. According to some user feedback, it is due to soft sidewall. Not sure thought but it should be the last time i use this tyre unless i have limited budget. However this tyre performance quite not bad during rain.

i was offered falken too (can't remember which model) for RM50 more or so.. I refused to take Falken as I can't even find the 4 digit manufacture date on the sidewall.. It's made in JP though.. I think Nx is still ok as age is catching up so spirited drive is limited to only travel long distance on HW... and rarely there is a chance to speed nowadays in the HW.

Might be due to the softwall of the tires...can try to pump more air in, incerease to 34-36psi and try out is there any improvement? brows.gif

Ya is true, 1cent 1value but overall still acceptable... thumbup.gif
