Wanna ask, anyone encountered problems with battery charging? Lately my note charges really slow, it can take up to 8 hours to be fully charged. I've got my charger replaced twice, and the samsung service personnel said it could be some overcharging problem. Is there such a thing? I've never overcharged my phone before, will unplug as soon as it reaches 100%. And it's only 1 month old T_____T

Using original cable and charger? Forumers have reported long charge times using poor quality cables.

If you are using everything original, then have your phone checked.

Original Note 2 charger is 5V/2A. Normal phone chargers typically 500mA to 1A, typical USB port also 500mA.

Using the original charger. At the beginning it was fine, 2-3 hours to be fully charged. But then it got slower, now need 8 hours to reach 100% cry.gif

You can check the charging medium. Make sure it's charging via AC and not USB when plugged in. To check, go to Settings and select Battery. While charging, make sure it's under AC. If it's charging via USB, it will take a longer period. Mine has this issue too, yet to change it at the SC, too lazy  tongue.gif

I just checked, it's charging via USB but it I'm charging it under AC mad.gif
Any way to change it to AC?
I don't wanna go to the SC anymore, the service is super slow, can compare to charging my battery yawn.gif

are you using a good power socket?  Maybe a faulty power socket (especially those cheap multiple socket extension) over-volt you original charger and spoilt it?

Never have problem with original Samsung charger since Note, S3 and now Note II.

Tried charging it at many diff places. Extension also tried, wall socket also tried. Still the same.
Guess I'm one of the unlucky ones sad.gif

Try different USB cable and try cleaning the usb ports. The problem is not the charger adapter or charging place, rather the usb connection is detected as USB instead of AC.
*
But I just got a new charger and usb cable set 2 days ago from the service centre wor...
Any way to switch it back to AC from the phone settings?

I think your phone needs checking. Could be the charging board in the phone is faulty and only detects USB.
*
Haihh... have to go back to the SC and wait 2 hours again...

QUOTE(nicregi @ Dec 19 2012, 03:28 PM)
I believe only rooted phone can do that. Normally it will auto detect.
*
I see... thanks for the info.

Have you tried a different usb cable? Being 2 days old does not mean it cannot be defective. If still the same then its the phone usb port problem.
*
This is the 3rd usb cable and adapter I got from samsung dy. Previous ones still give me the same results. I think confirm phone prob dy lah.
