I think you can check based on IMEI and if it is a retail version in the country it is imported, there is no way of knowing which carrier it is being used with.

My unit is said made by samsung and when i first time boot up it has the German language with it, but not sure whether it is from Germany or not.

I am not a fan of software update, so no idea on that.

That is super cheap!  Lowest I found in mudah & lelong is RM209 ~~

1. you already have a built in sound profile on your notification taskbar but only for sound/mute/vibrate...lolz

2. i) nothing except you gain your phone system admin.
    ii) install ExynosAbuse apk. One click and you're rooted.

1. Widgets - it all depend on what u like on the one x that u're looking for the note 2, if it's from HTC themself then mostly u won't find it anywhere else (but there might be cloned widgets though)

2. Rooting default won't cause any different in performance or battery save, but modded kernel and rom do have significant impact on both performance and batt saving...

If your card is 64Gb or MORE....exfat or NTFS. Note2 stock rom recognizes exfat. NTFS needs some kernel module IINM.

yes.. i think someone mentioned before.. need to check if your card reader is able to support sdxc standard...

What is the size of your card? If it's less than 64gb windows will format is as fat32. Unless your card has developed a problem.

If you format it in your phone I think it will also default based on size, <64 is fat32, >=64 is exfat

Oh yeah, @ccgenius reply, if you are on XP, you will need the SDXC driver update. It should be built in on Win7 and later.

And also, some readers DO NOT support exfat even after the SDXC update.

so many user drop tests done.    My own one with Nillkin hard case also drop from edge of table and broken into 4 pieces.  Luckily manage to fix it back without a scratch. 

lol... the 4 pieces is phone, battery, back cover and the nillkin hard case.     It landed on the back flat on the floor and bounced a bit - so everything underneath the phone just been ejected. 

therein lies the rub. these are ALL MARKETED AS CASES.  so nilkin is a back cover accessory and not a case. remember nokia xpress-on covers?

flip cases are cases although it still leaves the top n bottom edges exposed.

i think it depends very much what do the users expect from the case.  I am using Nillkin hard case and i do not expect it to protect my Note II from drop test.  I keep it (originally only intended to get it for temporary use) mainly for its nice texture at the back, preventing scratch on the shiny back cover and lift the back camera lens to prevent scratch.  Add on a neoprene case when it is in my pocket to make sure not even a tiny specks of silica can get close to it.

those using hard case like Nillkin and expect it to protect their Note II in a drop test is having unrealistic expectation out the case.  Get a Otterbox or Case-mate Tough for drop test. 
lol.... totally owned...   but i think some maxis outlet do keep the list and inform their waiting customers in the list.  But should be quite rare.
