Profile Scheduler as suggested below, I also using it as the Tasker are "too complicated" and I malas wanna set every single low level trigger 1 by 1...

If possible I don't want to resort to that solution.

Any battery draining issue?

before i get blasted for asking maybe question which is repeated a millions time.. do note this is like v12 and with hundreds of pages each which is very difficult to search.
and as i am typing there is another 3 new posts..
i do think it would be superb if moderator can help compile the FAQ for easy reference

so i have the below 2 questions

1 - any good recommendation for widgets.. previously was using htc one x.. and i must say their built in widgets is much better.. just looking for simple widget.. ie sound profile change?

2 - seeing alot of discussion about rooting. can someone kindly help to give some guide
i) what is the advantage of rooting - better performance/battery life
ii) some guide on how to perform rooting?

depend on what u set for the trigger sensor, don't use the GPS/WIFI condition as it will drain batt...
for your case u just choose the Time schedule and disable sync or swith to airplane mode will do...

It save battery more in fact. I can set disable data or other functions according to time or location.

very useful especially when i want different volume level for office and home. automatically changed profile based on location or can create timer (silent inside movie for two hours).

1. you already have a built in sound profile on your notification taskbar but only for sound/mute/vibrate...lolz

2. i) nothing except you gain your phone system admin.
ii) install ExynosAbuse apk. One click and you're rooted.

1. Widgets - it all depend on what u like on the one x that u're looking for the note 2, if it's from HTC themself then mostly u won't find it anywhere else (but there might be cloned widgets though)

2. Rooting default won't cause any different in performance or battery save, but modded kernel and rom do have significant impact on both performance and batt saving...

2 tab within the apps:

Profile - create a new profile and all the setting you can set include the sync option
Rules - this is the rule setting to activate which profile in which condition...

Its kinda straightforward, just create profile first then create rule how to govern the profile. Rule can based on time, location, wifi point etc. Let it run and don't open the app anymore unless you want to modify or update the rule

1. actually the sound profile is example.. any other good recommendation for widget

2. so by installing the exynosabuse.apk.. once rooted, what r the additional things i can do with it? or maybe you can tell me what you do with the device once rooted?

sorry if this is a dumb question.. have never rooted a device before

ooo..i very seldom go flashing crazy but you can do that if you want to. All i done after rooting was..
- do Nandroid backup.
- remove all unwanted pre-install apps (bloatwarez)
- flash custom kernel for some tweaking exp..sound

Cool. I have just created a new profile.
So I just put the scheduler, start time 00:00 and end time 09:00.
Which means during this period, this profile will be activated and my sync will be disabled?
I have actually set disable sync and GPS off for this profile. Now not sure how to auto activate this profile when it comes 12.00 a.m.

i hope i can help you because since i come from iOS for a long while, i needed to learn by myself

1-widgets there are a few types. stock ones (ugly), those you can download (Beautiful Widgets) and then those you can make (UCCW) for UCCW there are sites (can't remember) that enable you to take their design and use it (i am using the 4.2 clock widget by UCCW now). There is also minimalistic text which helps make your phone more arty farty with words reading out the time, temperature or battery life. then there's simple calendar which is a text version of your calendar app. there is also circle battery which displays your battery in a circle (customizable sizes) with customizable colors and backgrounds and everything. those sound profile changing and switch on and off wifi / bt and the rest, just swipe down the status bar, all is there!

2-i) full control over your phone. best feature is TitaniumBackupPro. Download it, and then schedule your backups to your external sd card (google lifehacker). better performance and battery life can be obtained by getting different kernels (maybe help maybe not) or OC / UV your CPU / GPU. i dare not do this so i can't comment. I'm just using Redpill 1.0 and i think its awesome enough.

edit : easier rooting can be done by the means of the exynox mem exploit thingyamabob. just google and u can find it all over xda. rooting also helps you to be more secure by the quick patch (less than 1 day after the exploit was found, many solutions were already here and there). it is now integrated into the redpill and perseus kernels which u can just flash
