WOI! cannot say you wanna discard serenity man. Or else later ppl call u arrogant. I tried to say i didn't want to be serenity dependent and got shot by a monk here saying is arrogant to do so.

build a monk that discard OWE first so u can have more freedom in passives...not good to have 2 passives locked down. STI + OWE.
if you wanna ditch serenity, maybe go for wave of light > blinding light. good stun skill.

My monk just can't do without serenity -ascension in mp10 ...sad but true however it can be discarded for any lower mp than the highest.

It is doable without serenity, even in MP10. That's for sure.
Everyone can do it.

It is just less practical.
For me, it just doesn't quite make sense to drop such skill.

How?

If doable means 1 death for every 2 packs of elite then no go.

Just drop it from your skill setup. See if you survive or not.
I did the Ghom@MP10 without serenity.

2. discard STI

I did 2. still funding for option 1.

Now MP10 uber run I use Chant of resonance (for more spirit regen so that I can spam MoC to the party) + TGP (I would want to have some dodge) + OwE

Of course, Ghom@mp10 can do however certain elite packs can be dreadful.

^ I think is not about dropping the skill but to dependent less on it. That skill imo is ideally for oh shit moments.

I think serenity is kinda identical to smokescreen. It makes you a lazy player.

No serenity means you cant face tank all the time. But I do agree you can ditch serenity as long you got good life sustain, high EHP and good timing skills on potion, teleport out before the Ohhhhhhh FFFFFFUUUUU moments

i'm not calling you arrogant. I had the same idea as you when i tried to roll a monk few pages ago. Some "monk" here called me arrogant for wanting to rely less on serenity. Epic huh.

Put it this way, you still die when you fight certain bad-ass elites, with or without serenity.

It is doable for sure. But I don't see a point to drop it.

speaking of TGP, i was using it with you since i can benefit from your MOE.

but i realized after going back to solo doing belial, f***er is 2 shotting me if i am not dodging without resolve (which requires 3-4 hit to kill me, and before 3 hit ever lands assume i wont dodge, my LS or life glove is enough to recover me back up)

funny how i never viewed resolve being that critical and just used it all the time because i was comfortable with it back since my tanking days.

and despite nerf, to me it is a day/night difference in mp5 belial fight (1 being effortless faceroll, while the other being a few retries)
