Hi,

Anyone did the malay traditional postnatal massage before? Is it effective and need to do how many treatments? Can give more info? I'm looking for a good one in Ipoh.

Hello there,

for postnatal massage, it is best to be done after 3 days - 5 days of delivery, and for at least minimum 3 times / sessions. the best is around 7 - 10 days of postnatal massage, and continue for 40 days of bengkung (like corset thingy at your belly) and tungku (using hot stone, hot warm pad). Bengkung and Tungku for the whole pantang until finish is to help expel wind, to make sure your body warm and your peranakan back to normal quicker. it also helps to stimulate your breastmilk and to make sure peredaran darah to flow good, help to elak bentan, or meroyan or body overstress.

it is good to also have tutup pantang massage, so that you can check with your therapist whether the peranakan already kecut properly and back to normal again or not, and your body is now fully healthy. Sometimes tutup pantang massage will also come with tungku, and some mandi bunga / or mandi limau to freshen up your body, and to have more energy too.

and for preggy mummy, some people say it is not wise to do massage. I do agree, if baby in the tummy is below 20 weeks (below 5 months) it is best to just be strong and stay strong. After 20 weeks of pregnancy, after the baby inside is strong enough, pre-natal massage can be done to help reduce stress in muscle, and help with sakit kaki, pinggang, sakit kepala, also when around 37 - 38 weeks of prengnancy, prenatal massage could help make the mummy ready for delivery, and it is said that delivery will come smoothly, insyaallah.

just sharing what I know as I am in the line.

Unfortunately we don't have alliance at Ipoh, but we do cover whole KL and Selangor.

Hope my info helps!
