Just bougt mf680 from blacktubi and then bought tp link 3240. Just plugged the zte into the 3420 (did not install from cd or make any changes) and this is the speed I got in Jalan Gasing:

How can I improve the upload speed?

Oh my.. this is a very good start for stock MF680 and 3420.

I don't think you need any tweak yet.  biggrin.gif

Very nice speed on Sunday evening which usually most of us here only got 'congested speed'.  tongue.gif

No this is not just Sunday speed; I get this kind of speed almost all times of the day and night every day for the past 3 days since my sim got activated. Now I am afraid to even run the install cd that came with the 3420 since the saying goes if it aint broke....

nothing much u can do for upload speed,

day time/peak hour, maxis does monitor and control it,.

only non peak hour/midnight hour, then your upload speed will be release in FULL speed  notworthy.gif

someone was saying an external antenna may help take the upload speed to above 2Mbps..

Should I go for the yagi type or the one blacktubu sells?

yeah, u might want to leave it as it is since it performs superbly fine for you,. notworthy.gif

for me , in my opinion,.

Feng Shui Best spot is everything,

then second level of congested in cell tower u are connected,

and last is enhancement of device,.
i dont think u need any enhancement since your ping and download speed is quite good,

just try to find best spot direction in your places,.  hmm.gif

I will try alternate placement.

It has been 72 hours and the zte mf680 hasn't overheated to affect performance yet.

if the zte mf680 remain untweaked and untouch in any setting, it should be fine even running 1weeks +,..

only tweaking will bring some uncertainty of heat and other issue ,  notworthy.gif

I believe blacktubi shipped it to me with his famous supertweak. Still touch wood....

Your 3420 is v1 or v2? Have you tweak it?
*
my 3420 is version 2.1 bought rm80 from Czone. Not only haven't tweaked (no idea how at this stage) but I also have not configured it which normally one should for new router. I just plugged in the zte expecting it won't work out of the box but it did. All I had to get was the key for wifi which is printed on the base of the 3420.

my firmware may not be the latest; it's out-of-the-box. i may not want to upgrade. i will try a few days to see how stable it is. So far so good.

yeah, really good one. Been searching the solution few days, no body knows what causes this. Luckily your different firmware gave me an idea to flash back to older firmware.

so your experience tells me I should not upgrade to the latest firmware! Thanks.

after 72 straight hours of 20Mbps, i finally had to shut off my 3420; i think maxis is down. so here's the chance for the mf680 and 3420 to cool down and take a rest!
