ping in 3G only is usually very high
just make sure u at least connected to HSPA for a smoother connection

direct plug your modem to USB port (or using cable extension also will do)
and make sure the other dashboard not running

the only thing u can do is force it to connect to 3G only (which means also includes WCDMA, HSPA, HSPA+, DC-HSPA)

to connect to HSPA+ or higher, u need to load the internet (in other words, use the internet )
or just ping to google in cmd prompt will do, just like me doing..now im always connected to Turbo 3G (HSPA) even though i not open any website
it actually prevent the connection from become idle

but u can always test it for yourself and see which one works best for u

as for me, I've tested with TX 33, 26, 23, 20.but i didn't see any significant difference, so i just use TX 20

after they troubleshoot it(do they?), now the speed is 2mbps

i really disappointed with maxis right now
at my kampung (hspa area) i can easily get 7mbps+ all day
but now at dc-hspa+ area, i can only get 2mbps, even at this very hour!!
