err... i assume it's just a typo because the Wii U console is definitely NOT region-free.
BTW, i forgot to ask, are the listed games in stock already? because you just mentioned the machine is in pre-order still. i'm looking for Assassin's Creed III and ZombiU QUOTE(Pbbseller @ Dec 13 2012, 02:22 PM) This post has been edited by yangkuo: Dec 13 2012, 06:04 PM |

i don't think that is the typical meaning or interpretation of region-free or region-locked. which is why if u look at the post after yours there's someone asking if they can play JP games eg. Monster Hunter 3G HD version.
anyway, as long as the readers know what exactly u meant then i guess there's not point arguing about it. err ... u did not response towards the games in stock question? are they available to buy now? QUOTE(Pbbseller @ Dec 13 2012, 06:25 PM) |

they are worried that the first system update will take a long time. it took me 3 hrs to do it (mainly waiting for the download to complete).
i am on 1Mbps Streamyx and the connection was fortunately consistent that time. if Unify should be about 45mins-1hr depending on package. QUOTE(Pbbseller @ Dec 14 2012, 11:15 AM) |

yes, i believe it's a general worry of our country's sometimes "inconsistent" service provider standards ... LOL
but then, as Nintendo puts it ... we should not power off the machine when the update is in progress. that is mainly because BEFORE the 1st system update ... the Wii U doesn't support download in background. if the system is shutdown or lost of internet connection (either accident or have to due to emergencies) .. then there is still a risk. i'm just relaying same concerns and experience to like minded Nintendo fans and supporters! *haha* P/S: once updated to 2.0.1 the system will automatically download system updates in background. so you can still continue using the system while it does that and you can power off the machine using Off button (it will pause the download 1st supposedly). QUOTE(Pbbseller @ Dec 14 2012, 11:28 AM) Bro, your information really very helpful. Hopefully you will always visit this thread more often buddy This post has been edited by yangkuo: Dec 14 2012, 11:35 AM |

that's why very 1st update... may be "extra" risk loh.
after 1st update at least the console can download 1st in background. although i believe still got some minor risk but that's generic to all consoles that support such things la. QUOTE(Pbbseller @ Dec 14 2012, 11:34 AM) This post has been edited by yangkuo: Dec 14 2012, 11:37 AM |

as i have mentioned earlier, the stepdown adapters provided by the suppliers (not only the units you are selling) aren't exactly suited for powering Wii U.
the Wii U US's power brick is rated at 75W. the stepdown provided usually are from the Wii (or even before) days which at most i've seen is 70W max output. using it as stepdown for the gamepad charger power brick is fine as that requires less power. the safest is to use step-down transformer/adapters rated 100W max output and above for the Wii U. anyway, there should be 3rd party 100v-240v AC adapters for Wii U too by now. i know a singapore game store bundling it and a LYN seller also had one unit to test waters. QUOTE(Pbbseller @ Dec 24 2012, 10:59 PM) Alright if you have any other problems you can get back to me. About the Step down transformer I will ask my supplier to check their units because this was the only step down transformer provided to me[ Added on December 26, 2012, 10:21 amoops ... forgot to ask my own question. LOL your Xmas promo got 2 type .. a bit confused. buy 2 get RM50 off ? are there more specific conditions? This post has been edited by yangkuo: Dec 26 2012, 10:22 AM |

ok, that's what i thought... because promo type 1 has "buy 2 get RM10 off"
i'll think about what to get next... once i completed some of the games on hand. *hehe* so far, Mass Effect 3 and Batman: Armored Edition gets my recommendation as good value launch titles. Trine 2 and Nano Assault NEO as eShop titles also good. This post has been edited by yangkuo: Dec 26 2012, 10:26 AM |
