I know perfectly well what the Trinity is, I explained it quite thoroughly from a literature point of view in many RWI discussions. Z1000 was the one asking how to explain it to non-believers, I only said it's impossible to do so because as I mentioned; they will believe their own source over the Christian themselves.

Hi Ray

Since you mentioned you are not a christian, what is your perfect description of the Trinity?

The word "perfect" in my earlier sentence was merely a phrase. I do not claim to be an authority on the subject matter, just that there was no need for someone to tell me that "the Christian god is 3-in-one like shampoo is wrong" because I already know it's incorrect and it's not that simple. All I'm saying that I'm not as lacking in general knowledge as some non-Christians who belittle or simply misunderstood the concept.

In the past I have used this picture:

Would be better represented by the middle bit encompassing the 3 .

You are right its Not simple. Our finite minds can only describe Him with the limitation of our thoughts, speech and words.
Its very diffcult to dssect and classify.

In scriptures, we have hebrew words describing Him as ONE who is yet compound in essence.
However, its interesting to understanding that because of this aspect of Him(compound),
the essence of relationship is found.
Therefore we can have the inter relational descriptions of love, which stems from the Creator who created humans "in His image",
meaning reflecting this one of His attribute.

We gather in this renewal gathering for deep soaking in the Holy Spirit who is the source of revival and for grace-based teachings (see Acts 1:5, 2:4; Ephesians 5:18-21).

Connecting to the Revival Whirlwind, Refining Fire, Rivers of Life, Harvest Rains, Oil of Joy, and Wine of Celebration of the Holy Spirit, we open our hearts for Him to transform, anoint, and counsel us for extending and for spreading the revival. Let me know your definition of 'power'.........

Going into a fenzy is not the power of the gospel.

The power of the gospel convicts sinners, and transforms lives..
The greatest manifestation of His power is when a sinner comes to know the Lord.
Thats the reason why angels rejoice....not when you have manifestations.

You dont need ecstacy for that. You need the power of the WORD and the conviction fo the HOLY SPIRIT.
Ecstacy is for the those who want a short jab. Thats why Ecatasy is also the name for a drug
used for short term highs......

A christian life is not about highs. Its about following and obeying the Master....inspite of lows.....
and walking in faith through the hearing of His word.

.....peace be with you too

You want to know what I find so disgusting?  I find it disgusting that men like Rob DeLuca (who you will see in this video), pastor of His Way Church in Auckland, New Zealand,  pretends to throw around the glory of God as if it were a common thing.  Is God’s glory so basic that sinful man can possess it and sling it around at will?  Think about that.

GOD'S GLORY and

Moses

QUOTE
Ex33

18And he said, I beseech thee, shew me thy glory.

19And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy.

20And he said, Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live.

21And the LORD said, Behold, there is a place by me, and thou shalt stand upon a rock:

22And it shall come to pass, while my glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a clift of the rock, and will cover thee with my hand while I pass by:

23And I will take away mine hand, and thou shalt see my back parts: but my face shall not be seen.

Isaiah

QUOTE
Isaiah 6

1In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the LORD sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple.

2Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly.

3And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.

4And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke.

5Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts.

By examining the historic meaning and purposes of rocks and stones mentioned in the Bible, it becomes apparent that the gemstone wall surrounding New Jerusalem is actually a graphic picture of the gifts given to the Church through salvation.

Just as all of creation speaks of our Creator, the study of Revelation's gemstone wall reveals important truths needed for your journey toward spiritual maturity in the Kingdom of God.

QUOTE
11And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.

12And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

13And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.

14And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

15And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

1And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

2And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

3And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

19And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald;

20The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolyte; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst.

The last 2 chapters of the bible shews the judgemnet of mankind........

There s NO NEED of gifts in the church ANYOMRE at this time.
Why jewels and precious stones? It depicts the perfected BEAUTIFUL BRIDE already prepared for the bridegroom.
NO MORE NEED of gifts! biggrin.gif

What are gifts for?

12For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

13Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

At that point of time, if you STILL needed the gifts, you will be in trouble! nod.gif

Read Ephesians 4 again.
The gifts are for the building of the church/bride.

The scene in Rev 22 sees the perfected bride to be received by the groom, which means that
no more building is required and therefore no more need of the gifts in the new heaven and earth.

Everything will be perfect then.......

Are you a pentecostal? Because only they would attribute every single movement, decision to the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit tells me to tell, The Holy Spirit through my friend A advices me helps me on, ThE Holy Spirit leads me to this place I feel so touched...

Actually, we also have free will. Yes, we are guided by the Holy Spirit, but not every single action are decisions of the Holy Spirit.

what I eat, is a decision self-made. not The Holy Spirit guides me to McD today for example.

It is very serious to me, when you invoke the name of Holy Spirit. I always advise my friend, not to just focus on Acts of the Apostles, but the whole Bible as a CONtext.

and no, the Holy Spirit did not ask me to write this to help you understand..it is also my free will. Holy Ghost is indeed powerful, but not to the extent every single decision is of Holy Spirit being invoked.. sweat.gif
prophetjul is right. Bec if you focus too much on gifts of holy spirit, you risk idolising those gifts in a worship, prophesying, speak in tongues. Our heart and centre must be our Lord Jesus Christ.

QUOTE(pehkay @ Feb 5 2013, 11:10 AM)
THINGS TO CONSIDER CONCERNING THE SENSE OF THE SPIRIT

Those
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

When we enjoy God through reading the Word, we need to drop our views and concepts in order to receive the central matters in God’s Word. This principle also applies to prayer. When we pray, we need to drop our decisions and thoughts in order to pray according the sense in our spirit. Regrettably, since most of our prayers are initiated by us, they are apart from the Spirit. If the Lord is not one with us in our prayers, we will not touch and absorb God in our prayers.

When we pray, we must learn to turn to our spirit. We must learn to set aside our feelings, opinions, ideas, memory, and decisions and pray solely according to the feeling in our spirit. Only then will God follow us in our prayer. As we follow the sense in our spirit, God will follow our prayer. We may utter a sentence, and the Lord will give us more feelings, which will lead us to utter another sentence. This sentence will lead to more feelings. This kind of prayer is breathing prayer, prayer that reaches God. The more we pray, the more we touch God’s presence and the more we absorb God Himself. The more we pray, the more we are filled with God. This is to enjoy God. The matters in our petitions are secondary. The important thing is that we have reached God, gained God, and absorbed God. This should be our experience every time we pray.

In order to have prayers that enjoy God, we must reject everything that disrupts the feeling in our spirit. In particular we should not be occupied with many thoughts. Sometimes we should even avoid considering many Bible passages. Instead, we should use the Word to calm our thoughts. However, under normal circumstances, we should exercise to be calm without relying on the Bible. Even praying with the words of the Bible can be a frustration if it is not according to the sense in our spirit. We may lose God’s presence.

We all need to see that when we turn to our spirit, are calm, and pray according to the feeling in our spirit, God will entrust many important matters to us for supplication. All we need to do is to follow the feeling in our spirit and pray the prayers that He initiates one by one. We will fulfill a great ministry of supplication in this way. Not only do we need to touch God in the morning when we eat, drink, and enjoy Him through reading and prayer; we need to touch God, pass through God, and allow Him to pass through us in our ministry-fulfilling prayers, our supplicating prayers. In our prayers, God and us, we and God, should be mingled together. Whenever we pray, our prayers should be inward prayers that come from touching God. All normal prayers are prayers according to the sense of the spirit. Such prayers come from our enjoyment of God and are actually an enjoyment of God. The more we pray this way, the more we will absorb God and enjoy Him.
*
Sounds very gnostic and new age....

Where in scriptures does it say prayer lead to 'enjoying God'?

God has created us with feelings and thoughts...

We need to set aside these for 'God to follow us in prayer'?

Where is this in scriptures?

The few statements like " The more we pray, the more we touch God’s presence and the more we absorb God Himself. The more we pray, the more we are filled with God." ,"we have reached God, gained God, and absorbed God", "we need to touch God, pass through God, and allow Him to pass through us ", smacks of new age spirituality......

huh.gif  sweat.gif . Gnostic philosophy refers the rudimentary teachings of both Jews and Gentiles, consisting of ritualistic observances in such things as meats, drinks, washings, and asceticism (Col. 2:8, 16, 20-22; Titus 1:14-15). Gnosticism is a composition of Greek and Oriental philosophy and Jewish religion.  It deals with conviction that material things are inherently evil.
Ok i maybe steching it a bit....... biggrin.gif
Jewish religion? i hope you are not refering to the olde jewish religion, Because if you call that gnostics as in post christianity, we are in trouble.
In post Jesus, we have all the Revealed Truth in order to know God.
We have many post Jesus 'christian' gnostics who claimed further 'new' revelations..trying to add to the
Truth........that in my view is gnosticism post Jesus. Jesus has already fufllied the OT Truths.
Theres no other new revelations on top of that taught by Jesus.
examples of post Jesus gnostics would be Marcion, Joseph smith, etc.

New Age? I think you are confused ... new age spirituality is pretty esoteric and nothing to do with even the concept of God. I think this is more a lack in Christians today toward the inner life writings (not Pentecostal).

Those few short statements you use shew new age-ism...finding god within....through ....contmpletive methods......conneecting God and ourselves......becoming one......

QUOTE
To experience Christ is a matter in our human spirit (Rom. 1:9; 1 Cor. 14:14; 16:18; 2 Cor. 2:13). But to enjoy Christ is a matter when the sense of the Spirit / intuition though the abiding in Christ permeate our human emotion, that is why, there is enjoyment. When we pray to experience various attributes or virtues of Christ, we enjoy the peace, life, joy, strength etc in our circumstances.

Where do those verses allude prayer leads to 'enjoyment'?
i am not arguing that we have no spirit....but where does thae scripture point prayers to Enjoying God?

QUOTE
We must learn to set aside our feelings, opinions, ideas, memory, and decisions and pray solely according to the feeling in our spirit.

but I will pray with my mind also;- 1 cor 14 biggrin.gif

QUOTE
There is a deep revelation in the Bible that God wants to be man's life and enjoyment. God is our life. Immediately after creating man in Genesis, God placed man in front of the tree of life (2:8-9). At the end of Revelation the tree of life is still present (22:2). The tree of life signifies God Himself. God is the source of life. When God says that He wants man to come to the tree of life, He means that He wants man to touch Him. God wants to enter into man to be his life.

Again..........enjoyment..........it focusses on man, not God. It makes God our source of gratification.
Bible teaches simply God is our life, that i agree. Man has a tendency for hedonism....the world pomotes
hedomism because it sells things.
We dont need to sell God. HE is not for sale. He is the Almighty Creator God. We come to Him because
He is who He is.

QUOTE
The Bible uses food and drink to speak of the relationship between God and man. Man needs food and drink in order to exist. He needs to eat, and he needs to drink. Every day we depend on these two things. If we do not eat or drink, we will die. The Bible shows that God is our food, and He is our living water. He comes to us to be our bread.

In the Old Testament we see these types. When the children of Israel began their journey through the wilderness, they had no food or drink. Then God performed a miracle and supplied them with food and drink. Their food did not grow out of the ground but came down from heaven. Their drink did not come from wells, which they dug, but from a smitten rock. Those in the Old Testament did not know the significance of this. One day, however, the Lord Jesus came. He was God come in the flesh, God among men. His goal was to be received by man and to become man’s enjoyment. He said that the manna in the Old Testament was only a type and that He was the bread that comes down from heaven (6:48-51). He is the true manna. He can satisfy man’s hunger and fill man from within. The Lord also said that He would be lifted up and that His body would be broken and out of it would flow living water. The living water is the Holy Spirit. When the Holy Spirit enters man, He satisfies man’s thirst and flows out of man as a river of living water to quench the thirst of others (7:37-38). These verses show that as God, Christ becomes man’s enjoyment. He wants to enter into us to be our food and our living water. He wants us to eat Him and drink Him every day.
Did they enjoy Him?
They murmured agianst manna after a while......Did they accept Jesus? No....they went into adultery
even after ALL those miracles of provisions and protection.. hedonism gets one no where.....
enjoyment is but a fleeting exercise.......

The Bible says that God enters into us to be our light of life (8:12). The Bible also says that God is our strength (Psa. 18:1). In order for a man to live, he also needs love, joy, and comfort. The Bible clearly says that God is love (1 John 4:8), for our enjoyment by our abiding in Him (1 John 2:5, 27-28; 3:6, 24).

How can we substantiate God's riches except through prayer? (Eph. 6:18)

QUOTE
Romans 8:23 says, “And not only so, but we ourselves also, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan in ourselves, eagerly awaiting sonship, the redemption of our body.” The thought in this verse is also that the Holy Spirit has been given to us for our enjoyment. Romans 5:5 shows that our enjoyment of the Spirit is a matter of love in the heart.

Enjoyment again..........

Where does Romans 5:5 allude to Enjoyment?
It tells us instead of the hope in Jesus Christ. smile.gif

QUOTE
1Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. 3 More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, 4 and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, 5 and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us. 6 For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. 7 For one will scarcely die for a righteous person--though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die-- 8 but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God. 10 For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life. 11 More than that, we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.

QUOTE
In 1 Corinthians 2:16 Paul said, “We have the mind of Christ.” Christ must saturate our mind from our spirit, making our mind one with His. We must give Him more and more ground to spread out of our spirit into our mind. That means our mind will be saturated with His mind, and we will have His mind. In the same principle, our emotion will be saturated with His emotion. In other words, our love will be saturated and permeated with His love. Thus, we will have His love in our love. Also, our will must be saturated with His will. Eventually, we can say that we have His heart as our heart because He has made His home in our heart. Our mind, emotion, and will must be thoroughly saturated, renewed, and transformed with Christ (2 Cor. 3:18). Then we will have the heart of Christ as our heart.  This is the context that we need to put aside our opinions and ability and let the Lord's desire be our desire.

QUOTE
13 And we impart this in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the Spirit, interpreting spiritual truths to those who are spiritual.14 The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned. 15 The spiritual person judges all things, but is himself to be judged by no one. 16"For who has understood the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?" But we have the mind of Christ.

Do those verses teach that to have the mind of Christ, one becomes one with Him through prayer or the WORD?
Its not about saturating your mind with His mind through contemplative prayers BUT..........thats NEW age-ism

Romans 12
1I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.2Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

Romans 10
15 And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!" 16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, "Lord, who has believed what he has heard from us?" 17 So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.

So to have the mind of Christ, the mind can only be renewed by the WORD of GOD.

For

For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. Heb 4:12

Hi prophetjul,

Gnostic / New Age are counterfeit of real enjoyment with Our Christ. Devil come to steal, destroy, etc..etc.. but I (Christ) come to give live n live abundantly.  (forgot the verses)

Of course devil cannot 100% copy that, so many presbyterian guard their mindsets with thinking that spoky..spoky stuffs must be new age... which is good.

on the other side, if u wanna explore, it is better you have mentor / coach before entering new experience as this, or , to play safe, just don't try. Still go to heaven lar... with / without spoky2x experiences...

I personally more focusing on heart attitude but i dunno know, even i don't like those "touch God, pass through God" things... / spoky2x thing, but i hate to say this, it seems that Holy Spirit wants me to dismantle my thinking and start exploring... that's why i asked Z1000 contact person of thos gold / diamond related churches; to have enough data.

In order not to get loss; I need to balance it with bro / sister in my church n lowyat.net n some bro n sis from many denomination.. this is my personal experiences n journey as of now...

Is it possible to SEEK HIM without manifestation ?  rclxub.gif

Of course....do you need manifestations to validate His prescene?

OR do you rely on his WORD?

28 Thomas answered him, "My Lord and my God!" 29 Jesus said to him, "Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed."

In indonesia, we are taught to know Christ in person, to experience HIM, reading bible is just to feed our spirit.

What is your definition of experiencing Jesus? That you can materially touch Him?
you do not experience HIS person in material.

you experience HIS WORD through the scriptures in your life.

Feedin your spirit, your mind is experiencing Him. you walk through the bible as HE walked.

Thats called FAITH, without which we cannot please God.

AND faith comes from hearing the WORD of GOD.
