QUOTE(fnm83 @ Mar 5 2014, 11:48 AM) Trinity concept: Incorrect. The trinity still exists, but it's hard for us to conceptualize because there is nothing in this world that is similar. 1. Holy Spirit 2. God 3. Son of God, i.e Jesus Since Holy Spirit = God, and God = Holy Spirit, means there are only 2 Gods in Christian i.e Jesus and God / Holy Spirit. Means, trinity concept is not trinity anymore. Am I correct? The closest approximation would be that of Ice, Water, and Vapour. All three are water, but just in different forms. Note that this is an approximation, and merely a gateway to help you understand, but not a complete metaphor. God is the Holy Spirit, and the Holy Spirit is Jesus, and Jesus is God, and all three are one and the same, but different. |

QUOTE(Sophiera @ Mar 5 2014, 07:06 PM) I have a scriptural question Might wanna take a look at Hebrew 6:1-337“Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’ 40“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ 41“Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’ 44“They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’ 45“He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’ 46“Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.” Is this an indication of salvation proved by works? Or there's another context? It talks about repentance from dead works. The thing is that what we did in the past does not mean we will get into heaven (going to heaven is strictly a grace thing, you get it as long as you confess that Christ is Lord) but it speaks more to the blessing in life and in the eternal life where our lot AFTER the rapture is. |

QUOTE(finecut @ Mar 30 2014, 05:05 AM) is it wierd that i believe in both evolution and creationism. some of my older church members are giving me "this is blasphemy" look when i tell them this... God made the world, but the only detail we have is that He used His Words. Who knows how did the Word manifest? Besides, this debate is best left alone and there are many other things you should be worried about |

I think Noah will have same treatment as Passion this time around.
Tickets all sold through churches and such. Private screenings in cinema. At least, I hope they do that instead of banning outright. |

QUOTE(KOHTT @ Apr 6 2014, 12:02 AM) So what's your view on Karma? Some things you must understand.- For those people who do bad things to others? Play politic in office, back stepping others, doing thing beyond moral? - For those people who do good thing such as charity work etc. Will it offset against the bad thing that one did in the past? 1. Every has sin. 2. God sent Jesus to absolve out sin. 3. We are now forgiven of our sins. The above three means that our salvation is by grace, and not by works. Having said that, one of the foundations of Christianity is repentance from dead works (Heb 6:1) and it means that the work we done before we are saved are considered dead works, but we need to look forward to what we can do as Christians to bring the Kingdom to here on earth. The next point would be that we reap what we sow (Galatians 6:7-9) so if we do evil we will reap evil. Put all of this together and you'd get something that some people might confuse as Karma. The important thing to remember is: 1. Salvation is by grace. It's freely given. 2. We need to do our good works. 3. We will reap what we sow. |

QUOTE(shinnsohai @ Apr 6 2014, 01:56 AM) Well Im not a Christian either The world is flawed. This is because we as human beings introduced sin into the world through disobedience. regarding the view on karma, based Im a buddhism. I do thinks that as if there is no karma, how you gonna says about those babies that not even given chances to born or having disorder. Do you think that this world is fair enough? As for the babies... I believe that there is such thing as a time where people are judged according to their sins, and those that did not have a chance accept Jesus (not those who reject Him outright) will be given the chance, so they will end up in Heaven too. |

QUOTE(shinnsohai @ Apr 7 2014, 12:32 AM) There is much more conflicts regarding this Well, what's the purpose of us being created in the first place? Whats the purpose if that particular baby ends up in heaven as he/she doesn't having the capabilities to think? Anyhow I agreed with you, "The world is flawed" Because "Faith" we're capable to do more, Although we couldn't prove it to be. I believe it is because God wanted us to be His companion, so he created us. The same for babies and the same for everyone. |
