Stand your Ground Part 1 (Spiritual Warfare)




Do you know, Jesus has given us weapon and armour for attacking as well as protection?

Against what you might ask?

Many times we've forgotten, our battle is not against people, but against spiritual principalities. (Ephesians 6:12)

Say what?

Yes. I believe, the very first law of cause and effect always come from the spiritual realm. Or Heavenly realm so to speak. It's never the physical realm that's the cause. What happens in the spiritual realm have implication in the physical realm. It all starts from there.

I realize, ever since I got myself active along with all my brothers in arm (no sisters yet) to actively uphold our Christian fellowship for this whole year, there have been an increase in attack from other quarters as well. Just last week, there's so many threads ridiculing and mocking Christianity and God. RWI is no exception. It's the epitome of mockery.

And it's no surprise because the devil (as usual) does not want people to know who God is. I believe it was he who incited this provocative retaliation. So that people would push God aside through misunderstanding, ignorance and hatred.

So I believe it's only right that all my friends in here know what to do in a spiritual warfare. To fight back, God's way. It is not our responsibility to answer every critic we see on the internet but to seek God and the things of his kingdom so that we grow and be victorious in shinning the light of the gospel unto this dark world. To do that we must know what we have in Christ, our arsenal. When you cut through the evil one in the spiritual realm, likewise the victory will have implication in the natural and physical world as well.

In the Book of Ephesians 6:10-18 talks about our armoury just like modern warfare, only this is the real deal. It's power will cut deep into the enemies territory.

Each piece of Armour mentioned is actually a teaching by itself. It is not per say, an armour which you can pray for to be covered with, Like God's hedge of protection (book of Job) or the blood of Jesus. But you get covered by practising it's principle.

1. The very first piece is the Belt of Truth. (Ephesians 6:14). The belt holds your other armour in place, without it, everything drops. What is the belt of truth? God's word is the belt of truth. You must be established in the word of God. For by it, you will know what is the truth and what are lies and deceit. The Bible also mention Jesus is the truth. (John 14:6) It is interesting to know that grace is a partner to Truth (John 1:17) Jesus makes it so clear in John 8:31-32, that if you continue in the word of God, you will know the truth and it will set you free. So make it a point to read God's word everyday and have this desire to be established in God's word, It will hold all the pieces together and you will be able to stand!

2. The second piece is the Breastplate of Righteousness. I've given so many devotion on righteousness, by now you should know, The new covenant Righteousness is no longer your righteousness but Jesus's righteousness. You must be established by the fact it is Jesus's obedience that makes you righteous not yours. (Romans 5:19) Because when you fall or fail or sin, know that you've been justified by the grace and gift of righteousness not by your works of righteousness. So stand tall. When you are established in knowing this, all the flaming darts of condemnation and guilt cannot hurt you because it will bounce off God's righteousness which He freely gives you. Satan cannot accuse you when it is God who justify. But if you try to come to God through your own obedience or your own effort, Satan will make mince meat out of you because there is no grace through the old testament law. So make sure you know whose righteousness is your breastplate.

3. The third piece is the shoe of the Gospel of Peace. What is this shoe all about? My revelation from God's spirit is this. Walk in peace.
The bible says be anxious for nothing (Philippians 4:6), Do not worry (Matthew 6:25), Let not your heart be troubled (John 14:27). Don't let anything worry or upset you. Colossians 3:15 says Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts. The word rule here has the same meaning as umpire. Let the peace of Jesus, govern your heart. Help you to make decisions with it. When you are established in Jesus's shalom or peace, then as in the passage of Isaiah, (It is interesting to note) in Isaiah 52:7 that says How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace. It is as if God is saying, when you are walking in peace, God will lift you up in High places as on mountains firm and established. And how beautiful it is for those who walk in peace. The devil cannot harassed peaceful Christians. He will just leave you and find others to attack.

what is the difference between Methodist church and Christ of Church?. Is it the same?

It's the largest denomination after Catholics.

They have a bishop who ordained pastors and they rotate pastors all over the country.

Doctrine wise, I don't see the difference.

Main Methodist style of worship perhaps a bit old fashioned.

But DUMC is pretty contemporary. Like Hillsong.

you can't really say that they are old fashioned, Methodist is divided into 5 different conference the main Conferences is Chinese Annual Conference(CAC) followed by Tamil Methodist Conference(TAC) and Trinity Annual Conference(TRIAC) these 3 are the main Conference body in Peninsular Malaysia.

(TRIAC) is the most active one the style of worship is mainly comptemporary as they have more youth under in their services

while CAC is mainly old fashioned as many said due to their roots as CAC and TAC is the oldest conference in Malaysia, yet also because many of their lay leader are mostly chinese educated more of senior member above 50 years old but recently many churches under CAC banner has changed their worship style to be more comptemporary.........

So means what?. As I know, Christian & Catholic have different believes, hence christian church & catholic church is totally different. So is it the same for Christian church & Methodist church? I'm new and looking for church and thinking to go for DUMC. I've saw many categories of church :-
1) Catholic church
2) Church of christ
3) Baptist church
4) Methodist Church
4) Some no category (as in they dint note is baptist or methodist, etc)

catholic church is theology is way much different from Protestant as they believe in Mary also that Pope and all his minister has the power to forgive sin

Church of Christ i do not know much about it, from what i heard they are a cult church.....

methodist and Baptist church are under protestant churches just that their theology is different

DUMC is okay.

hmm i curious about are you all walk from house 2 house to spread the christian or to join Sunday early morning? last time at Uni i have join before because i too shy to reject it as got pretty girl invite me go.

So today at my house also have some people taking some book and wonder around here. well we just ignored it because i know when we go talk with them, they will talk alot.

they are so called christian but on fact they are not christian but more like a cult group, as you can notice they would normally dress either in black or carry a black umbrella, and selling some small booklets

only casual clothes. really not what cult.
is a bapist christian, my grandma go see and and say no time with them and they give a brochure about tmrw morning go church see event. and have a tea time chat time .

well i have attended 1 day during college time, i go and they pray and sing then introduce ownself and make fren. have tea time and talk about bible and jesus life. many to go~~~
