twas' 11 days before Christmas, around 9:38
when 20 beautiful children stormed through heaven's gate.
their smiles were contagious, their laughter filled the air.
they could hardly believe all the beauty they saw there.
they were filled with such joy, they didn't know what to say.
they remembered nothing of what had happened earlier that day.
"where are we?" asked a little girl, as quiet as a mouse.
"this is heaven." declared a small boy. "we're spending Christmas at God's house." when what to their wondering eyes did appear,
but Jesus, their savior, the children gathered near.
He looked at them and smiled, and they smiled just the same.
then He opened His arms and He called them by name.
and in that moment was joy, that only heaven can bring
those children all flew into the arms of their King
and as they lingered in the warmth of His embrace,
one small girl turned and looked at Jesus' face.
and as if He could read all the questions she had
He gently whispered to her, "I'll take care of mom and dad."
then He looked down on earth, the world far below
He saw all of the hurt, the sorrow, and woe
then He closed His eyes and He outstretched His hand,
"Let My power and presence re-enter this land!"
"may this country be delivered from the hands of fools"
"I'm taking back my nation. I'm taking back my schools!"
then He and the children stood up without a sound.
"come now my children, let me show you around."
excitement filled the space, some skipped and some ran.
all displaying enthusiasm that only a small child can.
and i heard Him proclaim as He walked out of sight,
"in the midst of this darkness, I AM STILL THE LIGHT."

That's what human do, even myself. When we are at our comfort zone, we don't seek God, and when we faced bad things, we cried "where is God?".

Btw, I got a book titled "Where is God" by John Townsend, good book btw, can read at Google Book

Have you consider John the Baptist when he was beheaded by Herod?

Where was God?

cant answer your question. But have you thought of this. If you ask this question, people dying from cancer will ask where was God, people got into car accident will ask where was God, people who drown will ask where was God, people who die will ask where was God. no?

Men will face earthly death in any circumstances, so i don't see death on earth as a problem. I see death as a sure thing once your purpose on earth is done and is time to go back home. But the way of dying, i dunno who is in control.

That just show that man was created with a spirit to contact and contain God smile.gif

Only when man is reduced to such a state when he has no way out, then he consider God. What a pride or arrogance we have tongue.gif

People on earth will continue to see death on earth until Jesus brings judgement to the world.

You might ask where is God. God is always in control, he would not let things happen unless he allow it to.

This world is plagued with sin which is why it will always die until God return to give us the new heaven and earth.

John the Baptist was chosen by God to make the way known for Jesus.

yet he was beheaded by Herod, dying in a death fashion undeserved.

Saint Stephen a man full of God's grace and power, did great
wonders and miraculous signs among the people but died by being stoned to death.

These are a couple of saints who died in a way least unexpected.

Saints of God are expected to be protected from harm, yet they died in horrific death.

Does it mean, God wasn't there?

No the answer is, it is time for them to go home to be with the Lord.

Heaven is a much better place than here anytime.

So thus answer the question for the killing of Connecticut children.

Yes No one should kill, but even when one go against the command of God not to kill, God can still use that situation for Good. (Romans 5:20)

In the murder of Connecticut, I believe the Lord brought home all those children to God's heaven. That is the good part.

God has given ALL believers of Christ the grace and power not to sin continually.

Your responsibility is to find out as much as possible what do you have in Christ.

God is in the control in the sense that He has setup all the things we need to live victoriously.

Everything is already provided for.

Our job is to reach out for it.

I don't think anyone has the right to blame God for their own ignorance.

And by grace, God will answer to anyone who ask him. smile.gif

common problem could be, no confident in asking, or feel unworthy to come to God.

But God says, COME BOLDLY! (Hebrews 4:16)

because the blood of Jesus has qualify everyone.

QUOTE
8 And they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden.
9 But the Lord God called to the man and said to him, “Where are you?”4
10 And he said, “I heard the sound of you in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked, and I hid myself.”
11 He said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten of the tree of which I commanded you not to eat?”
12 The man said, d“The woman whom you gave to be with me, she gave me fruit of the tree, and I ate.”
13 Then the Lord God said to the woman, “What is this that you have done?” The woman said, e“The serpent deceived me, and I ate.

Sometime they just feel guilty to come to God.

God will not reject those who come as they are.

It's usually due to condemnation preaching that makes people afraid to come to God.

God says condemnation preaching is a thing of the past.
