QUOTE(unknown warrior @ Mar 1 2013, 02:36 PM)
Not really,

you must read the Bible as a whole, not just focus on Corinthians.

Paul encourages everyone to pray in the tongues rather than refrain from it.

What He is refraining speaking in tongues is to believers as evident here.

1 Corinthians 14:6
Now, brothers, if I come to you and speak in tongues, what good will I be to you, unless I bring you some revelation or knowledge or prophecy or word of instruction?

This is where he emphasize to be quiet.

But at the same time, He also said;

1 Corinthians 14:39
Therefore, my brothers, be eager to prophesy, and do not forbid speaking in tongues.

and this verse as well.

Ephesians 6:18
And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.
*
Yu seem to detract from the point in question

a) Groaning does not equate tongues

b) No one is forbidding you to use tongues....but when theres no Interpretation in a public setting, be SILent!

c) Eph 6 emphasises what i pointed out...........all kinds of prayer including known human lingo which is just as powerful

The objective is not so much on whether the Holy Spirit is behind it, but sometime we do not know what to pray for.

QUOTE(unknown warrior @ Mar 1 2013, 02:55 PM)
Hebrews 8:7
For if there had been nothing wrong with that first covenant, no place would have been sought for another.

Hebrews 8:13
By calling this covenant "new," he has made the first one obsolete; and what is obsolete and aging will soon disappear.
*
Does the new covenant mean the law is done away?

NO!

Because instead its written on yer hearts!

8:10For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will putmy laws into their mind, and writethem in their hearts: and I will beto them a God, and they shall beto me a people:

QUOTE(unknown warrior @ Mar 1 2013, 03:03 PM)
In Spiritual warfare, we can only pray so much using English or Bahasa, or whatever language.

At most, like 30 minutes? Even if it's lengthy one (example)

But when you pray in the tongues, you can pray for hours.

Prayer Intercessors pray on their knees for hours and hours, interceding to God

Intercessors are elite group of prayer warriors in our Church Circle.  smile.gif

They are gifted in prayers.
*
Does length of prayers equate to power?

Methinks the Lord's prayer is very short and SWEET........ biggrin.gif

Actually it is. Tongues is not just languages of other nations. It is sounds that is not expressed in coherent words, that is what it means in Romans 8:26

No that is not what it says, read properly again.

Not true, I've already given you the scripture basis for it. It's in Romans 8:27.

It can also be all the time with the tongue if the believer wants to pray in the spirit.

It's really up to each individual.

Groans is groans..........i have shown you Strong's interpretation of the greek word.....so
unless you are better than Strong's..........

To project it as tongues........is stretching it a bit..........Romans 8:28 can easily apply to known language........

The key is in here,

with groans that words cannot express.

known language = expressed words.

BTW back to your point b) I said, that is not what it says, read my post again. You missed out
this.

1 Corinthians 14:6
Now, brothers, if I come to you and speak in tongues, what good will I be to you, unless I bring you some revelation or knowledge or prophecy or word of instruction?

What does that mean in the bold? you seem to ignore that on purpose.

because we are all created in the image and likeness of God (Gen 1:26)
According to Aristotle and St Thomas Aquinas' Transcendentals: res, unum, aliquid, bonum, verum, God is Beauty, Goodness, Truth.

If our hearts are inclined to goodness, and our brain to the Truth (conscience and reasoning), and God is Truth and Goodness, we can deduce from Aristotle model of (All men must die-Socrates is a man-Socrates must die), We are created in the image and likeness of God, and all of us are inclined to the Truth.

Therefore we can say that all are inclined to the Truth. God has placed in our hearts a longing to seek and find him.
“You have made us for yourself, and our heart is restless until it rests in you.” (St Augustine)
We call this longing for God – Religion.

“Anyone who seeks truth seeks God, whether or not the realizes it.” (St. Edith Stein)

now i hope any anti-saints stop bombarding me with looking to the saints, because They do speak truth and which leads us deeper into understanding of 'image and likeness' of Gen 1:26, instead of adding into scriptures.

The whole context was talking about Jesus Christ, not really the laws.

Whenever the Bible mentions the laws, it speaks of the Bible as a whole in today's context.

Who is the Bible or word of God?

Jesus Christ. (John 1:1)

if you scroll down, God talks about forgiveness of sins, again it points to Jesus Christ.

Who comes into our Hearts? Again Jesus Christ.
