Does the sound output will make any difference with & w/o the DAC + AMP combo? Btw, where did you buy the Fiio E10K ?  brows.gif
*
for me there is sound difference.
esp when i plug direct to my desktop front port, there's a faint buzzing sound. apparently its interference noise from the working parts within the desktop unit.

after i plug in the DAC, the sound completely gone. can hear new sounds i never picked up before even tho keep listening to the same playlist laugh.gif laugh.gif
the amp also makes the headphone push higher volume.

i bought my audio technica and fiio separately from this guy : https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=3124581&hl=
good recommended seller.

btw, if you mainly using it for your iPhone/mobile, maybe you should look for portable DAC + AMP. i dont think the e10k can work with mobile.

I am not going to use it in any traffic or even outside.

I just want to know is the isolation good enough, how much it atteneuate noise. What kind of sound attenuated, whether the rumble of trains, peoples chatter or random sound without playing any music.

If it attenuates  lots of sounds, all sound is reduced in loudness that means the isolation is decent.

However for some people they say good isolation but actually they are just playing music loudly, drowning the noise. So that's not true isolation.
So I guess what you mean here is that the isolation is not very good? Can you compare it to other headphone  that you have heard?
*
m50x not true isolation. can isolate about 80% of external noise, , still can hear a bit of the outside world when not playing any music

Tq everyone I guess m50x is the answer.
*
I dont think you can go wrong with m50x as a 1st studio headphone. unless you more into bass like Beats kinda thing.
can take it from there and become a headphone hoarder laugh.gif

So roughly how long for yours to burn in properly ? I tested unit at Jaben NuSentral, and it's disappointed. Borrow one DAC from them, still a bit lacking in IQ and still not much bass.
The one next to is, Beyerdynamic custom one pro sounds much better with appropriate bass ( and cheaper ).
*
If you want more bass, go for the Beyerdynamic COP. It's more towards bass and has that adjustable thing on the side. Iinm, there's a new model/design change coming otw soon.

AT M50x is more flat and neutral. Bass not really its thing tho its already considered a bit heavy for purist and audiophiles.

is ath-50x suitable for movies?

Very versatile for me. Good for movies and music. Even gaming but i prefer more bass for that

Hi, really new in lowyat so if I did anything wrong please guide me.

A proud owner of the MSR7 here, the pads that are included for the cans have virtually vaporized no kidding.
[attachmentid=8339382]

So I've went out on a heated journey throughout amazon jungles of products I've found a pair of pads for the specifically for the MSR7 but surprise surprise no delivery to Malaysia  mega_shok.gif . I did however found a few pairs which seems promising..

https://www.amazon.com/Brainwavz-Replacemen...ds=earpads&th=1
I've heard mixed reviews on this one when used on the MSR7 due to it not being sonically compatible.

Another set found was for the mdr V6
https://www.amazon.com/MDR-7506-MDR-CD900ST...3242350011&th=1

anyone who had experience with either of this could tell their impression or if you have a better suggestion I'm all ears.

You're looking for pads that sound the closest to the stock ones? I've just ordered these today for my M50x, should be compatible with MSR7. Can give you impression in a few weeks.

http://www.brainwavzaudio.com/products/hea...-leather-angled
Malaysia weather hot and damp. Not safe for pleather material, along with the sweat and hair grease.  laugh.gif
*
using Brainwavz HM5 angled pleather on my M50x.
Brainwavz earpads are the best. really damn comfy to use. i think the sheepskin one will be even nicer to use.
i think it will fit the MSR7.

i bought the angled ones because ATH M50x drivers inside the cans are usually angled so it helps out sonically. I use my cans in air cond room so no worries about the hot weather

there are few options to choose from, pleather, velour or hybrid. guess need to do some research on that cos it will change the sound a bit. try check out the angled ones too

bought from mp4nation.com. got free shipping to Malaysia, but might take a while. if in a hurry can always use faster shipping by choosing more expensive shipping options.
if you do buy from there, please use my referral code : 4706394 when check out haha.

Finally got to try the sheepskin angled pads for a few days. They're gigantic compared to the stock pads, not that hard to put them on. My ears fit nicely inside them, no longer do I need to suffer from the on ear discomfort. Totally agree with yokoloco, they're the best, damn comfy too. Sound stage slightly widen since your ears are further away from the drivers but you lose a bit of bass as expected. Here's how I would rate them between the stock pads, velour pads (Massdrop), Brainwavz Sheepskin Angled pads. Overall a good investment in my opinion.

Sound - Stock>Brainwavz Angled> Velour
Comfort - Brainwavz Angled> Velour> Stock

never get the sheepskins. but they look good tho.
Brainwavz hm5 pads are damn comfy, should have switched out my stock pads ages ago lol

yep. i bought from mp4nation.net, due to free shipping to MY. couldn't find any local shops selling this, closest is Singapore, but also require to pay shipping fee.
i bought the angled pleather ones

got normal pleather/velour and hybrid ones, can browse around the Brainwavz section. but make sure is the hm5 variant. not sure if other will work with m50x.

if you do end up buying from there, please use my referral if you wish
