Sometimes the box has the sticker from the country's official distributor.

Really want to try the MSR7 and ESR9LTD. Wonder when will they be available locally...

You mean the ESW9Ltd?
I'm also curious with this headphone as I previously owned the ESW9, which I later recabled with SPC cable before I passed it down to my brother-in-law.

I'm just wondering why Audio Technica never offers make their high-end headphones with detachable cables option as they offer this to their iem IM series.
On my previous ESW9, the stock cable start to tangle and curl after 2 to 3 years.

Tried the new ESW9Ltd Edition earlier.
While my wife loves the sound and offered to buy the headphones for me, I told her maybe not as I still can't get it why they don't offer removable cable for their ESW series.

My ESW9 cables started to tangle and curled after a few years and I did recable the phone with SPC cable.

As the demo ESW9Ltd was just delivered today, I'll audition again after the store has burn-in the demo set.

hows the shine and grain looks like ?
is it as shiny in the picture ? is the grain obvious ?
does it exude poshness ?  drool.gif  drool.gif

The grain is very obvious, so if you don't like wood veneer, better look elsewhere.
It is shiny as the pict, so handle with care tongue.gif

Indeed it exudes poshness over the same price competitor

The metal adjustable headband is shiny chromed-coloured though, not champagne gold like the photo on the FB page

The 9ltd  brows.gif  How was it in comparison to esw9 or 11ltd?  laugh.gif

The store did not have the 11Ltd, ESW9 and 10Ltd biggrin.gif
I believed someone already post his impression of the 9Ltd compared to the regular 9, 10Ltd and 11Ltd at HeadFi

Must've missed the updates  sweat.gif  been frequenting chinese forums too much these days
was hoping for some impression here since I see that your an ex-owner of esw9  tongue.gif

Been ages since I handed down my recabled ESW9 to my bro-in-law
To have accurate impression, need to have all the cans driven by the same source playing the same song, or else gone haywire if basing on memory biggrin.gif

pulled the trigger on the IM-02 without trying it beforehand D: hope its worth it hahaha

It should be a nice pairing with the FiiO X1.
I prefer the IM02 sound signature over the more expensive IM03.

thanks for your advice  smile.gif

As the previous poster already replied, only you can decide what type of amp will suit your need as we don't know what is your sound preference or music selection.
But honestly, this headphone is very easy to drive and I can plug-in direct to my AK100ii or FiiO X1 with still room to play.

As for burning-in, it sounds good out of the box but a friend of mine who has the phone for >3 weeks told me that it gets better with burn-in.

the headphone comes with the ath casing ?  drool.gif
nice grains

Unfortunately, the headphone only comes with the vinyl pouch like the ESW9.
The ATH hardcase is one of the freebies from the shop, in addition to ATH 1/8" to 1/4" adapter

feel like jumping in blind for esw9ltd and im02
more like buying for collection rather than use because i already have a proper full sized headphone
should i do it ?
*
If for collection, maybe you should go for esw9ltd, since it is only a limited run of 3000 units, PROVIDED you like the sound signature of he ESW series.
You can also use the esw9ltd on the go, pair it with your smartphone or DAP since the esw series are not power hungry.

If for usage, I think the IM02 is more practical, as it is an IEM and you can just chuck it inside your bag and bring it anywhere with you. You also don't hve to worry of any scratches on the iem, unlike on the shiny face of esw9ltd.
For me, value for money has to go to the IM02 as I much prefers the sq over the more expensive IM03.

Truth be told, I kinda regretted not buying the esw10jpn when I had the chance, as I still have the regular esw9 when the 10jpn was launched.

speaking of practicality i believe the esw9ltd is nothing more than a vase to be frank
i have already a headphone for home usage and i dont think i will be bringing the esw9ltd outside
maybe i really might just purchase a vase for show only then

the im02 is more like a dream actually, i dont actually use im02 also
but i really like how ath presents the im series

may really just jump the gun this time
want to use bday as excuse  icon_question.gif
*
There you go.
You answer your own question tongue.gif

The reason I bought the esw9ltd is because my wife likes the mids compared to her previous V-Moda XS.
To be honest, I also don't want to be caught wearing esw9ltd outside, as my ciem Roxannei is more practical. biggrin.gif
But I don't mind collecting the ESW limited series just for the sake of it
