Any AD2000X owner here who can give some impressions on the sound signature for this pair of headphone?

QUOTE(Quazacolt @ Nov 29 2013, 10:12 PM) yeah wanted to compare with the old ad2000. AD2000X is Made in Japan if I'm not mistaken. Just need a chance to listen to it and convince my head it is worth the price.so far the ad900x has been a let down, not too sure if the jdm ad2000x would be the same result as the ad900x which is china made |

QUOTE(noonies_naruto @ Dec 4 2013, 10:50 AM) nope. In fact, for all my stuff that i order from amazon, i never had to pay for anything else. That is really nice, some friend are taxed before buying from Amazon when the stuff arrived in Malaysia, how bad luck. The headphones arrived yesterday too! But nobody was at home to pick it up |

QUOTE(sheenho @ Jan 7 2014, 12:27 AM) So I've been trying to burn in more hours on the AD2000x as it still looks and sounds like a new headphone. There's another unit of AD2000x in the store which has more burn in hour as I can notice the difference but the earcups of that one are a bit dampen. I've never listened to AD2000 before, so I can't really do a write up on comparing it with AD2000x. Please note that my primary headphone is W1000, and my setup is heavily coloured on midrange, which has eliminated any sibilance. Thanks for the impression on this headphone. Really nice. Here goes my brief impression: The moment I plugged it into my setup(D6->Yammy), I just couldn't stop listening to music. It is lovely and musical. I couldn't find any word to describe the sound signature and not able to pinpoint the 'strongpoint' or the 'emphasis' of this headphone. I can say it is a quite neutral headphone, with a bit of coloration on midrange. The midrange is bodied and full. But the high is kinda disappointing for my liking, I find it a bit cold and sometimes harsh. Bass? I can survive with W1000, surely AD2000x has better bass in terms of quantity and quality. For vocal, I would go back to W1000 anytime. Instrument separation is good, wide soundstage. Suitable cans for groove jazz, light jazz, orchestra and OST! It is a fast and responsive headphone, but not thin sounding. In fact, the sound is quite full and bodied. My Yammy is a slow amp, so I can't really test the headphone on rock songs. But one thing for sure, AD2000x shines with Jpop too. Final thought- It's a mixed feeling. I like the headphone, it really sings, but I am a bit disappointed with the sound. Maybe I have put the wrong expectation on this headphone.
