proud owner of AD700!
bought it for RM415 during the PC Fair. Can't let a good deal go just like that. agree that outside they are $100 only (amazon), but I still got them for that price. don't want to deal with customs, extra cost, etc
i don't see myself listening with these much any way. probably on live recording only. i have T50RP for that job
using these for gaming and movies mainly

QUOTE(moniqee @ Dec 14 2012, 03:31 PM) wow... major steal... RM415 is still a great deal since you would get the warranty from AT MY and no hassle from Amazon... u can upgrade the pads... it would lessen the sound leak and increase the comfort zone! So true Upgrade to what? I need something to at least dampen the sibilance to at least tolerable level like the T50RP... QUOTE(Quazacolt @ Dec 14 2012, 05:07 PM) why not? anything over rm500 is easily 10% tax. You have experience with customs bro? Need help because I'm going to get a DIY AMP/DAC from a friend in HK. I wanna be prepared with the amount of money and also negotiation LOL

QUOTE(moniqee @ Dec 14 2012, 07:44 PM) the pads are exchangeable.. it can really make a difference... for those who think the purple thing is ugly can repaint yourself... there's lots of DIY which u can "google" although for me the purple is just nice for me... Lemme see about that... Is there a mod for this? I like the purple...I think... Oh well

QUOTE(moniqee @ Dec 14 2012, 07:59 PM) no mod... juz CHANGE the earpads... (u can use other headphone earpads on ad700) u can use W1000 earpads ( which are leather ) to reduce the sound leaks although it can be uncomfortable under hot weather... Ugh.. no thanks. So there isn't a mod to change the sound then? Oh well. I don't mind the sound leaks. This is one of the reason to get it LOL I'll see what other mods can be done though

QUOTE(Quazacolt @ Dec 17 2012, 07:08 PM) if shit happens to your package and you under declare, insurance will only compensate based on what you declare if you got caught on under declare/wrong declaration by customs (eg: its a bomb and you declare it being a toy), you may be charged for criminal offense that is a few k in fine, jail term, or both but yea sure you can declare whatever you want so long the seller is willing to do it Aww crap...so my stuff is going to cost about $200. Then I have to ready another $20 for customs...sigh... Also, I heard that depending the type of item, you will get extra charge. One example is that computer parts are excluded. So I'm bringging in a DAC & AMP combo, how do I not make it be charged more than he 10% mentioned before? This post has been edited by graphidz: Dec 17 2012, 11:30 PM
