Hey everyone, recently I've been checking out ATH AD900x. So far I think that's the one I'm going to be getting but upon checking the price. It's about $138 in US which converts to about RM 500+. Here it's selling for 1.3k in Jaben and such. Is it much cheaper to just import even including shipping fees? Will there be tax if I do buy them from Amazon?

Thank you in advance! biggrin.gif

Check what's the price after including shipping, as Amazon can be really expensive. There's one option you can go, check out CDJapan, bought my IM50 there, and many many KPOP CDs.

Amazon will include total cost inclusive of import fee and also shipping together with your order. Another to note is whether they will ship the particular headphone to Malaysia as Amazaon have restriction on shipping to M'sia smile.gif

Thanks guys! I checked the price for shipping and it seems that both amazon and cd-japan costs less than buying from stores here. If I do order from Amazon, with import and shipping paid. Will there be any chance where the the custom will tax me further?

I looked through ebay and the price for AD900X ranged about RM700 (including shipping and import charges) and above. I think the RM500+ ones are AD700X? Amazon does sell them cheaper but it seems the shipping handling and import charges aren't calculated as well. And only one listing does ship to Malaysia, that one is USD149 which is about RM66+. Not sure how much is the shipping and import charges to Malaysia, but it should add at least RM150 into the price.

I'd suggest getting locally since the warranty will be easier.

Ah okay, yeah you're right, didn't even think about warranty. In that case I might just go for the cheaper AD500x from Malaysia altogether. Thanks for all the help and quick replies

If you're really interested to get the best sound, I'd suggest you test both of them out and before making a decision. It pays to buy the best pair by saving instead of buying the cheaper model with the intention to upgrade.
However if you don't intend to upgrade, the AD500X would suit you better. As always its up to you.

In that case, I'm gonna try them out in a store nearby my college. Can barely find any reviews on the 500x since most of them primarily reviews the 900x. Guess testing them out is the only way I'm gonna know for sure.

For Amazon order, it will not incurred any more cost coming to Malaysia as you have paid upfront. If the custom tax is more than what you paid, Amazon will pay the difference smile.gif

Ohh thats nice to know. Thank you guys. It's crazy how much extra you have to pay if you buy it straight from Malaysia.

New question, any physical store that sells Audio Technica headphones nearby Klang or Subang? Jaben discontinued AD500x and Stars Picker Audio in Damansara wouldn't reply my message
