I bought it from Red Ape for 900ish. Sounds pretty good if you’re not a fan of NC headphones.
Ended up buying these when I tested and compared these cans against Sony’s XM3 and Bose’s QCii.
Comfort wise Bose and Sony feels much better. The M50x clamp force is pretty strong but still tolerable.
Overall sound wise, I prefer these much over Sony and Bose. I’m using these cans for music, gaming and movies.
Sound lag is pretty negligible.
App wise, nothing fancy for these M50x as compared to the other two.

Oh. Forgot one more thing. The battery life on these is fanfreakingtastic. As I only occasionally use it when I travel, I put it to charge like once a month.

Sorry for the n00b question, but it's been many years since I've shopped for headphones locally. Need recommendation for trusted (meaning not fake goods) local online store that stock ATH-M50x (wired version) at a decent price (meaning not Jaben-style robbery). Must be able to deliver to JB, Johor. So far I've found www.musicbliss.com.my but never bought from them before, so not sure about the reputation. Any other dealers to recommend? Thanks in advance.

Hello everyone,
My M40x's left speaker is dead, warranty ended(bought from MusicBliss). Is there anywhere good I can get it repaired?

I also looked around online for the left element replacement part, as one can guess it's all out. Seems to be a widely happening issue.

Around near end of 2017, during my research on replacement parts, I saw that the higher end M70x and M50x has issues like the hinges, but from what I saw those pictures people posted have their units pretty dinged up. And I seen some people having the older M50 (non x) left driver just dying.

That was the case with my old M50, but it only happened after around 6.5 -7 yrs of constant use (though only indoors), so I can't really fault it. Bought in Singapore, iirc. The headband outer material started cracking and flaking after about 4 years, so I just peeled it all off and did some DIY to make a soft fabric cover to replace it. Changed pads once. Modded it a bit with different damping material for the drivers. No issues with hinges. The cable looked like it had some disease (like chicken pox), but it held up. Maybe I should have had it recabled, but it was already quite old by then. Surprisingly, the sound didn't seem to degrade before driver death. Overall, served me quite well.

I never owned the M40 before, but if it's really driver death (as opposed to some loose wire), then I think the only repair would be to replace the driver with one from a "donor" M40 (impractical and probably expensive) or get the drivers from a parts stockist (or directly from Audio Technica if possible). You won't know for sure unless you open it up and measure the driver resistance (which requires proper measuring equipment - sorry, I forgot the technical name) yourself though.

Hi everyone,
My ath m50x with broken right side driver
Tested my current cable with other m50x, its fine and vice versa.
Right side still dead
Opened up right side driver, tried a direct contact from 2.5mm jack to receiver on right side driver, still dead.
Tried on left side, all good.
Borrowed a multimeter from a friend to check resistance, right side dead.

So, anywhere or anyone can provide assistance?
