Both are good budget PSUs. You can read more here on what is earlier shared on the Hexa 500 and VS550 (bigger brother for VS450). You should read through the 1st page of this thread to have a rough idea. wink.gif

Some interesting findings on the Cooler Master VS series units.

In the TechPowerUp review, the V550S has Su'scon and Teapo caps on the secondary.

However, when this unit is launched in the US, the press release showed:
QUOTE
Cooler Master is proud to announce our latest V Semi-Modular (VSM) Series Power Supplies. This new series boasts 100% Japanese capacitors, semi-modular cables for easy maintenance, and high 80 PLUS Gold efficiency - all while being backed by our Gold Guarantee service plan for outstanding durability and total confidence in your next system build.

Then I emailed Cooler Master's support team for confirmation and they confirmed that all retail versions of the VS series use 100% Japanese capacitors.

BTW, Idealtech has brought in an improved version of the GXII, called the GX II Pro, and the 750W variant only cost RM359 (RM319 on offer)... not a bad price tag after all... brows.gif

Actually I did contacted someone who works at Cooler Master, and he told me that only the PSU with the ' -S1 ' suffix is equipped with 100% Japanese caps:

Zalman LE units... made by Hui Cheng Electronic Technology... not really a very good OEM to begin with. sweat.gif

(400W variant)

Though I'm surprised to see Nichicon's KME caps on the secondary... Cheng caps on the primary side... sweat.gif

Not much PSUs under the price range though... maybe the Antec VP450 for RM129? What hardware are you trying to power? hmm.gif

Not saying it's better... though the FSP is no slouch, either. tongue.gif
The FSP Hexa is a good entry level unit, and considering your hardware don't really need a lot of power, the FSP unit should power it just fine. tongue.gif

Which entry level graphics card are you talking about? hmm.gif

Update: a mistake though, the purple-blue caps are not Nichicon caps, they are Nicon KME caps. sweat.gif
