QUOTE(thunderbird @ Jul 13 2021, 10:29 AM) Hi, i am looking for a PSU that comes with bronze 80 certified, full modular, sleeved cables and at least 5 yrs warranty, 500w above. Do you need full modularity? Unless you are going custom cables a semimodular one is fine as well since you still need to use some cables like the 24 pin ATX connector Appreciate if anyone know which brand and model has this requirement? TQ Something like the Corsair RM650? |

QUOTE(pcbuilder420 @ Jun 18 2021, 01:04 PM) Just double checked with LTT forum's PSU tier list, looks like I'll be getting either the Enermax or MSI A750GF. Sadly the availability, especially for the Rev DF (and MSI also to an extent) is so bad online, only few vendors have stock (and not applicable for Shopee cashback either The Enermax/MSI ones are better than the RM750 Also, would you recommend both these over the RM750 (non-X)? Priced similarly. Thinking of upgrading to 5600x or potential 8 core non-X somewhere down the line, 750W still a safe bet? Do note that if you intend to buy the RM750, get the gray labeled one like this: https://www.corsair.com/us/en/Categories/Pr...p/CP-9020195-NA or this one (the 2021 model) https://www.corsair.com/us/en/Categories/Pr...p/CP-9020233-NA SKU model for the RM gray: CP-9020195-UK There is an EOL'd orange label one which is inferior to the two mentioned earlier: https://www.corsair.com/us/en/Categories/Pr...p/CP-9020054-NA (shouldn't be sold here anymore since it's an old unit) QUOTE Thinking of upgrading to 5600x or potential 8 core non-X somewhere down the line, 750W still a safe bet? Yup, should be fine |

QUOTE(HeavensGift @ Jul 12 2021, 10:02 AM) recently pc will suddenly shut down. once it shut down it will keep on off repeatedly. Might be better to test the PSU first before buying a new PSU:somehow after i unplug and plug in the psu 20+4 pin then it will work for a few days. does this mean my psu is going gg soon? any good psu recommendation? budget around 300-500. very old com, still running gtx970. https://www.lazada.com.my/products/power-su...c2DWD7&search=1 If you insist of upgrading or replacing the PSU, those should be great choices: https://www.lazada.com.my/products/fractal-...sX70k3&search=1 (might be overkill for a 970) https://www.lazada.com.my/products/super-fl...8sOdim&search=1 (can be a bit large since 160mm length, and note the aggressive fan profile of the PSU) https://www.lazada.com.my/products/corsair-...S31IOm&search=1 https://www.lazada.com.my/products/nzxt-c-s...bxoMD1&search=1 (Seasonic OEM) https://www.lazada.com.my/products/cougar-g...i0NsmU&search=1 (review: https://www.techpowerup.com/review/cougar-gx-f750/13.html ) https://www.lazada.com.my/products/msi-mpg-...7312Lq0ThQ&mp=1 (one of the best units for your money) https://www.lazada.com.my/products/enermax-...P78rVb&search=1 (also one of the best ones for your money) https://www.lazada.com.my/products/adata-xp...9162506480.html? https://www.lazada.com.my/products/cooler-m...el6s0C&search=1 |

Sifus, need an advice about a final piece of hardware for a rebuilt of my brother's 7 years old pc. So far i have most of the parts i have except PSU.
Intel i3-10105F Asus Prime B460M-A Reused Zotac GTX1060 3GB ID-Cooling SE-224 XT Listed out parts that consume power(?). Left over budget around 250, any quality PSU that have enough juices to power the rig for let's say 5 years on light gaming, and some emulation/web surfing. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance. Cougar is a consumer brand of HEC/Compucase, which is a rather well-known PSU manufacturer that also manufactures some EVGA/Corsair PSUs https://www.lazada.com.my/shop-power-supply...1&sort=priceasc Some of their PSUs are actually fine (like the GX-S/GEX/GX-F), but their entry level models like the BXM/VTX/XTC/VTE are pretty mediocre That being said, it might be better to state your current PC hardware so that we can make a better recommendation This post has been edited by chocobo7779: Jul 27 2021, 03:45 PM |

QUOTE(thales.of.miletus @ Jul 27 2021, 05:19 PM) What's the common opinion on buying 2nd hand psu, not knowing it's history whether it been used on mining unit or not? It's hard to tell, but do make sure not to buy those cheap 1000W+ PSUs, like these:https://www.f14lab.org/2018/03/review-xigma...iner-1800w.html https://www.f14lab.org/2018/03/review-andys...-plus-1350.html If you see 1000W+ PSUs for something like RM200-300 then it's very likely those are low quality mining PSUs, or a heavily used one Alternatively, stick to a new PSU, as a good one can be had for around RM300-400, and it will happily handle a lot of PC builds (depending on quality, of course) This post has been edited by chocobo7779: Jul 27 2021, 06:35 PM |
