Hey girls, do you all ever encounter moments when you feel so close to your best friend(a girl), the feeling is hard to describe. Sometimes when you got argument with BF or family or problem with work, there is a best friend who can share with you. She listen to all your complaint and lend you her shoulder. And the best part is she tears with you. Feeling like you can lost your BF but not this friend, because she understand you more than your BF does. Any experience to share?

I don't have a best friend. I have close friends. Giving someone the title of "best friend" almost always ends up in disappointment.

I agree usually they end up betraying us. but then close friends are better, we share our problems as well, hang out once in a while, but stays as close friends

I don't have a particular best friend. If you ask me, my bf would be my best friend. Friends come and go. I have about a handful of close friends but most of them are guys. They do listen to my problems and cheer me up when I'm down. I find that making jokes and teasing each other is better than crying together with me.

You are lucky to find a friend like this. I had a very close friend in Uni but we live in different countries now so haven't seen each other for a long time... Luckily Facebook and the Internet means we can stay in touch. Be good to your friend so she will be good to you!

I don't have one. Friends come and go especially for girls, when you are in trouble don't expect them to be there for you. They will listen to you usually after everything has ended but hardly help/ give something that really help you out during that situation like lending you money, find solution for you, etc.

It's good that you have such friend. I always tell people to treasure these friends over their BFs because;
1) You can have multiple of these "best/close friend" 2) They may come & go, but if you put in the effort, you'll always have "best/close friend" around you 3) They generally aren't as demanding as your BF/GF (if they are, something's wrong)
I've seen girls with BF & only BF in their life, once they lose that BF, they become lonely & empty as heck. I don't like that, especially for people like me who hardly made new friends now days, so I often try to pull my current friends together by initiating meet ups, yumchas, holidays etc.

I know it's great to have a best friend but trust me. I had none so far. Thought she's my best friend but it's always me who starts a conversation and we both basically just have different personalities. Not to say we can't go along, we go along exceptionally well but it's just something missing in this friendship. It's like she doesn't really care but I tend to care a lot. Seriously complicated.

Same experience here, well, almost. Every time, I would think that I've made a good friend and that we are close friends (me and different friends), but in the end, I always end up finding that it was mostly a one-way friendship, that I was the only one that felt we were close and got along well. And almost always, it feels like I am the one that's initiating things, like hanging out, texting them to know how they are doing, and all those stuff. If I don't do that, then I won't hear from anyone for a very long time. It's frustrating and depressing, as if I am the only one that's committed to the friendship. I have yet to find friends that can mutually reciprocate without me being the only one that's trying to make things work out.

Sometimes, we don't talk for quite some time andden just go out and catch up. But we know if we need each other, we can always contact them.

But then again, it's so normal these days with ppl busy with their own life and priority keep changing. anyway here's a video clip from facebook to share with u all http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=179260442213576"True friends are never apart; maybe in distance, but not in heart."

Errr... Not really. Like most forumers said, friends come and go. I don't even share a lot of my personal problems with people, because most of the time the purpose of hanging out is to have fun and laugh, not so much about sharing problems and feel all personal.
I do have a small number of close friends, guys and girls, whom I feel close enough to share my problems with. Those would be close friends.
And as for bf, I'm not sure how could you be in a relationship with someone if you can't open up about your personal life. And I thought it's all about sharing lives with each other?

Awww...reading this makes me kinda depressed. The older i get the more i realize that best friends are very very rare, and sometimes they can be the person who lets you down the most. The last best friend i had, we ended up falling out and lost contact with each other after that. Sigh...friends are so hard to find.

I have very less close friends too, maybe I'm too busy with my job. But anyway, we do contact each other regularly, sometimes she will come overnight in my house and we can have pillow talk.

Best friends are great because the distance required to stab you in the back is so much more less.
