Local set Y480 already phased out already and replaced by Y400 with better designs. Most of the Y480 available in the market are grey imported set (AP set). You might get a refurbished set or end up with major warranty claims problem. Its best to avoid and go for local set Y400.  nod.gif

Yeah but y400 kinda expensive and the spec same like y480, besides, I'm on budget now. Y480 the least that I can get. smile.gif heard about some of my friends have the same laptop and he got no problem at all

Try to look for a sealed unit.
I think some sellers will still have stock for it.

Buying laptop is not like buying vegetable. We need to look at price/performance and also good service/warranty support. What happens if we are unlucky to get a refurbished set or bad apple for cheaper imported set and local Lenovo reject your warranty as reported in http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/2647407sweat.gif

Dont get carry away by the good offers on cheaper imported set (AP set)  drool.gif  rclxm9.gif
and overlook the important of good service & warranty support before we  cry.gif  mad.gif

Spend a bit extra for local set Y400 and you get better designs, cooling and optional swappable ultrabay.  thumbup.gif
You can check the Y400 pricing in garage sales & nego for it.  nod.gif

yeah ill think about that, could be worth it though to buy y400. So you have y400? hows the gaming performance? can run ultra setting? and the hightest FPS that you can reach

Heard a lot of touchpad issue on y400, y500, and y580. But so far, never heard about touchpad problem from any y480 user.
