Anyone feels that web browsing on Windows 8 will slow down every now and then? It's not constant though, if I load a page after not touching the browser for some time, it will load quite slowly. After that it will be fast again. However, the cycle repeats itself everytime I leave the browser not doing anything.

QUOTE(mrl @ Jan 13 2013, 08:32 PM) Open task manager and check your resource utilization... I assumed all are running on desktop, not metro... Hmm, I suspect it has something to do with Avast, tried and google around and it is indeed due to that. Anyone else faces this problem as well? Can't seem to find the solution yet. |

QUOTE(mrquidz @ Feb 19 2013, 12:43 PM) it works fine on y480 too? i'll try it then.. Woah, thank you very much for the tips.I read this on the link given, maybe you should try this? USB 3.0 Fixes If you're USB 3.0 hard drives keep getting disconnected or is not running USB 3.0 do this: 1. When you install the Lenovo Power Management, open it and turn off the hard disk drive power saver option. 2. After that select the USB 3.0 hard drive, right click and select properties -> Hardware -> Select the USB 3.0 drive -> Properties -> a pop up will open then select Change Settings -> Select the Policies Tab and then set Removal Policy to Better Performance then ok. Shut down Windows 8, remove your portable USB 3.0 drive and boot up then plug the USB 3.0 drive again. After doing all of this, I was able to use my portable usb 3.0 drive properly in full speeds. I didn't know my Y580 wasn't operating on USB3.0. Before this, ATTO32 benchmark gave me about 60+MB/s and I thought that was USB3.0 speed already. After applying the fix, I can transfer 1GB file under 3 seconds so that gives me about 300MB/s However, the ATTO32 benchmark is still capped around 65MB/s.
