Hi guys. I'm interested in buying Y580, but would like to know whether 5935-1111 is a better choice compare to 5934-2479 since the difference are only the processor and SSD. Price difference is RM500. Should I just buy 5934-2479 and upgrade later?

juz bought the machine 3 days ago,experiencing this kindda probs really irritating.
install far cry 3 only for now, sometime the game freeze...have to end task all the time...
and the graphic also like there are flashing pixel randomly?artifacts problem?
how to solve this?

Only FarCry3? try another games as well...

Try some other game.
If the problem still occurs, maybe the GPU is spoilt.
Then go for an exchange.

I play using Captain Hook's service but nothing happen also.

Everywhere you can get a ram.
Just make sure it is a 1600mhz instead of 1333mhz.

Last time when i bought first around august, i got y580 with this problem BAD Graphic chip, ask for 1 to 1 exchange but no stock, then the shop refund back.. you should install 3dmark11 and check it wether got artifact or not

Just wanted to ask u guys,when you are playing game the laptop would get heat up right? Is it ok for to remove the back cover while you were playing game? Will it induce dust or any particle to enter into the internal component and damaging it?

Which model are you talking about. So far for Lenovo Y500 the highest temperature i got is around 65C. Which is totally fine.

Yesterday help my fiend build a rig with GTX 650 1GB vRAM(1100MHz Clock Speed, 5000MHz Memory speed, 80GB/s memory bandwidth)
expect it will be more faster than our Y480 GT 650M GDDR5, but result come out not so in expect, although it can max out and run smoothly(in 1280x720), but when it come to the place with more texture, it got some lag...
So after he went back and I do some test on my Y480, finally found out it need 2GB vRAM if u wanna max out all the setting(but is if ur graphic card strong enough), coz in 1366x768 when max setting, memory usage is ady in 7XXMB-8XXMB vRAM, I can expect it would draw out 1GB vRAM when it need to be...lol
I ady ask him bring his desktop morning later, hope in some tweak it can be max out all the setting
