Hi silly question here , if I were to buy from the Lenovo US ONLINE website for y500 it doesn't include the extra ultra bay graphic card right ? And there is a new year promo going on now so should I buy from there or buy from Malaysia ? What about the warranty and stuff if I buy from us ? Pls help tq !

Those who has moved the HDD to ODD location, what's the clearance we have for that area? I'm trying to see over on amazon or ebay if I can get cheaper, but I notice there's two size (12.7mm and 9.5mm) which one will fit Y580 ODD space?

Hi guys, I just wanted to ask where to get the Y480? Not many sellers at LYP and Digital Mall have it.

Was testing something and i accidentally clean my whole SSD   so i decided to experiment something which end up that it works.   Now on my SSD i have dual boot OS of Win7 and Win8...
1. You will need to do a recovery media of your Win8 which you will need a 16GB pendrive or ext. HDD, by following this: http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/...?DocID=HT076024
2. On your SSD, format and split the partition accordingly if you need 2 type of OS on it. If not then just leave it as it is...
3. Install Win7 on the partition which you wish to recover your Win8 into, so this step is just to create a dummy so that the recovery media will enable you to do recovery onto that partition.
4. Finish the Win7 installation until you can get into the desktop wallpaper screen, plug in your recovery media pendrive/ext. HDD and then restart without any need for driver or software installation.
5. Press F12 so that you can choose the bootup media to your USB recovery media.
6. From here onward again you can follow the instructions from the link above and then wait for the recovery to be done...
7. After finish, you will see the Win8 like a freshly installed ones but all the drivers will still be intact so no need to do driver installations, unless for the graphic drivers that you want to update to the newest.
8. And for me, i plug in the Win7 installation pendrive again and then reboot to install the Win7 on my other partition. So on every startup i will get to choose Win7 or Win8 for the bootup.

Actually I still hesitated to call it a gaming laptop, more like an advanced multimedia purpose laptop. But the use of GTX series GPU in a normal laptop (people always relate GTX series with gaming) I think thats why. Y500 is like a cheaper version of Razer Blade. Well look at the design of Y500 and I really loved it. It looks slim yet still have that aggresive gamer centric design and the cooling system redesign too (guess Lenovo learned it from the cooling design of Y580/480 design) correct me if I'm wrong.

well, I'm willling to call this as gaming laptop unofficially since Razer Blade has the similar spec (same CPU + GPU....)

however, Lenovo US coined Y580 as Powerful Gaming Laptop PC...
