What is the price/ spec of Y500? Bought where?
Can u register the warranty for imported unit on-line?
Are you extending the warranty service via Lenovo US site or Malaysia site?

rm2899, 8gb ram, 1tb hdd+16gb msata ssd, bluray ODD, without the second gpu ofcoz.
warranty online check valid 1 year warranty, yes can extend via lenovo us site but i not yet extend.

Yup... the Win8 boot is fast!

but when i run multi tasking (Installing behind, word, excel, mp3, surfing) at the same time causes lag and some delay/hangs.

So... with SSD supposed its fast... coz curently the bottleneck for Y500 is the HDD...

But i heard that mSATA port might be SATA2 oni... so i thought of using the standard SSD... so far no one from Y500 reported any info on the mSATA SSD.

those JBL speaker, when i first try it I was like, "man... is this really the laptop speaker? this small sized speaker?"

what's ur fully charged battery life (hours) for y480/y580?

mine 1 just around 4 hours++ with balance power setting, wifi on, surfing net... is it normal??? @@

that's normal... I still can't believe Lenovo's decision on the battery capacity actually... I wonder if there's any extended battery for this model...

can't get Y400 at my area
trying to get Y480 also to no avail, the guy told me Y480 gonna out with bundled win8 and the price is unknown

I think Y480 obsolete already...

Y400 not available for the entire country, doubt it's already obsoleted

Anyway, any of you knows the specs that you can get from the shop for Y400? I only managed to ask from one of the shops here that Y400 with $2799 without DVDRW ultrabay

mine come with mSata 16GB, this is the msata model SanDisk U100 Solid State Drive
this is the msata spec.

Hi, can you use HWinfo and post the SSD sata type. Coz if the SATA port is SATAII then SATA3 SSD stil runs on SATA2 speed.

Hmmm.. or u can try the CrystalDisk Mark / Bench 32 and test the mSATA Speed.

That can show if the mSATA runs on SATA3 speed.

here you are the hwinfo, but CrystalDisk Mark not able to detect the msata drive.

hey guys.. where do i dl win7 home basic ISO?..

i wan to reinstall the win7 on my msata.. den only upgrade win8 pro from there..

I think the port runs on SATA3...

btw, is ur windows installed on it? or is it just a separate drive u can access?

I wouldnt recommend upgrade from 7... a clean installation for Win8 would be better.
Look for Win8 ISO.

but how does the win7 upgrade works?.. can I just upgrade to a win8 key n use it?.. thats what I need to know..

ps: because it looks like i need to download an upgrade assistant.. n den only proceed from there..

Ya u must dl that software first, don't forget to backup the win 8 iso file ya.....
And the default create installer from that software is non-EFI one
