Friend, contract or not, you still need to get another phone if the earlier one is lost or stolen, right?
Reading the various comments here on whether to choose Ivalue or outright purchase makes me chuckle. Your consideration should be as follows....
As long as its allowed under your entitlement, you should choose the Ivalue plans. Why? Simply because maxis has made the offer very attractive with the extra 1gb data and minutes included although they are only on network.
Having an iPhone but wanna stinge on paying data charges is making dumb use of a smartphone. Then how much data you need? Let me share my scenario. I hv maxis fiber at home and I work on the go, my monthly data consumption can be between 500mb to 1.5gb. Thus, I will require at least 2gb data allowance monthly. For 2gb, maxis charges $48 per month
So, fine, my minimum monthly outlay is $48 whether I take up a plan or add on a pay as you use call charges.
Then look at Ivalue 100, it offers 2gb data and fits my needs so I explore the package further on what extra charges I will incur if I choose Ivalue over standard plan.
I m interested in 32gb model, which for 12 months, maxis subsidizes $450, I.e. around $40 per month. choosing this Ivalue plan means I will pay extra $52 per month (in real world, its gonna be less since I will incur calls and SMS charges)
However, since maxis already subsidize the phone up to $40 per month, the extra I will incur will only be aroud $12 (52-40). So, it it worthwhile for me to pay the extra $12 per month.
ABSO-ffxcking-LUTELY. For extra $12, I get the calls and SMS included (tho' on network) in my package on top of my key requirement which is 2gb monthly data allowance.
This iPhone 5 Ivalue package is the most worthwhile Ivalue package to date compared to previously.
