True it is a bit disadvantages to sign with Digi if u planned for 1year only. I wonder why DIGI don't give ppl option to go for 1year perhap?

CorrecT me if I'm wrong ya
Take DIGI n MAXIS lowest plan to compare

Idigi 88 : monthly fee RM 60 x 24 months = RM 1440
iPhone price 16 gb : RM 2012
Free In Package :
200 mins
200 sms
20 mms
1GB
Addition charge :
15sens per min
10 sens per SMs
20 sens per MMS
RM 300 credit limit

Maxis ivalue 1 : monthly fee RM 100 x 24months = RM 2400 minus RM 500 down payment rebate = RM 2100
iPhone price 16gb : RM 1399
Free In Package :
333 mins
200 sms-only maxis
20 mms-only maxis
2GB
4GB wifi maxis
Addition charge :
15sens per min
10 sens per SMs
20 sens per MMS
RM 400 credit limit
Extra from Maxis:
1000mins free to maxis
800sms free to maxis

To make the comparison more near too;-
333-200 = 133mins extra in Maxis cost = RM 19.95
MAXIS 200 SMS = RM 20
Maxis 20 MMS = RM 4

So total ownership compared idigi 88 vs maxis ivalue1:

Digi 1440 + 2012 = RM 3452 + (19.95x24) = RM 3930.80
Maxis 2100 + 1399 = RM 3499 + (24x24) = RM 4075

RM 3499 - RM 3452 = RM 47
RM 4075 - RM 3930.80 = RM 144.2
Monthly different between two package breakdown to 24months.
RM 47 / 24 = RM 1.96
RM 144.2 / 24 = RM 6.1
P/s : Digi upfront payment idigi 88: RM 2012
Maxis upfront payment ivalue 1 : RM 1899
So no much different thou

Friend, contract or not, you still need to get another phone if the earlier one is lost or stolen, right?

Reading the various comments here on whether to choose Ivalue or outright purchase makes me chuckle.  Your consideration should be as follows....

As long as its allowed under your entitlement, you should choose the Ivalue plans. Why? Simply because maxis has made the offer very attractive with the extra 1gb data and minutes included although they are only on network.

Having an iPhone but wanna stinge on paying data charges is making dumb use of a smartphone.

Then how much data you need?  Let me share my scenario.  I hv maxis fiber at home and I work on the go, my monthly data consumption can be between 500mb to 1.5gb.  Thus, I will require at least 2gb data allowance monthly.  For 2gb, maxis charges $48 per month

So, fine, my minimum monthly outlay is $48 whether I take up a plan or add on a pay as you use call charges.

Then look at Ivalue 100, it offers 2gb data and fits my needs so I explore the package further on what extra charges I will incur if I choose Ivalue over standard plan.

I m interested in 32gb model, which for 12 months, maxis subsidizes $450, I.e. around $40 per month.  choosing this Ivalue plan means I will pay extra $52 per month (in real world, its gonna be less since I will incur calls and SMS charges)

However, since maxis already subsidize the phone up to $40 per month, the extra I will incur will only be aroud $12 (52-40).  So, it it worthwhile for me to pay the extra $12 per month.

ABSO-ffxcking-LUTELY.  For extra $12, I get the calls and SMS included (tho' on network) in my package on top of my key requirement which is 2gb monthly data allowance.

This iPhone 5 Ivalue package is the most worthwhile Ivalue package to date compared to previously.
