Excuse my ignorance but in what circumstance do we need to use more than 2 touch points?

Is this phone easy to learn and use for old people?

It's for my old dad actually. He has bad experience with Sony and Samsung in terms of reception quality cos he lives in small kampung in Sarawak. So far, his old Nokia phone has superb reception...so he only trusts Nokia.

Before buying this Lumia 620 for him, I need to confirm a few things:

Can cellular internet data be 100% disabled / turned off? He uses WiFi if internet is needed.

Is the speaker loud? Old people need loud ringing.

Speakerphone mode works good? Mic has good pickup in this mode?

WP8 OS rock stable?

Can we sync contacts from Gmail into the phone contacts?

Is there any screen protector available in the market for this phone? (since it's so new)

it can be turned off 100%. no prob. i only use wifi coz using prepaid and no credit missing. so its confirm off.

it is loud if u place it on hard table, but in bed,u need to place it screen side down. coz the speaker at the back so cant hear loudly.

speakerphone no prob. it even has secondary mic for noise cancellation.so its cut out background noise.

wp8 definitely stable.no worries. bought it at the 1st day of launch. using wit so many applications installed but no evidence of lag.

no. windows phone only support hotmail.u need to open hotmail account to use windows phone. u can 1st sync ur gmail contacts wit hotmail account 1st,then u can import.

unfortunately, there is no default way to test it. u have to install multitouch testing software from windows marketplace. easiest way would be to test pinch to zoom, but it only uses 2 touches..
