Noted with thanks. It's not causing me any problems. I've been testing this handset for just over two weeks. First two days it froze once each day. Since then, totally stable. Most of the issues I have with wp8 are just inconveniences like missing shortcuts in the menus. |

Nokia wins with a great piece of hardware. Microsoft is still on trial with an unfinished os in need of many improvements.
Really annoying things include: cannot off the auto rotate cannot save, edit or delete sim contacts cannot share a file via Bluetooth without switching Bluetooth on before going to the file on-screen menu button very poor design choice, fouls the screen content dunno how to exit music player - hit the volume control shows last song paused auto hide of battery, signal, WiFi, Bluetooth icons clock hidden when using browser Things that impressed me include : solid, compact and good quality build great display good touch sensitivity very loud - useful for alarm can take screenshot even of the lock screen Nokia maps GPS very fast one smooth and stable with slowness hidden by screen activity This post has been edited by dgboy: Feb 20 2013, 12:42 AM |

Battery+ is a cute app - you can have the battery % and remaining time in a live tile, the limitation is it will auto update at 30 mins interval.

This is so ridiculous. >> Agreed. And how do we search music other than scrolling down the whole list? I can't find any search option. The only menu item is Add to Now Playing. Once you ve got over the excitement of the tiles, wp8 is kinda all downhill after that. This post has been edited by dgboy: Feb 21 2013, 11:02 PM |

QUOTE(more2teayap @ Feb 21 2013, 08:55 PM) The alarm can be a good thing also, say you plan to wake up earlier than your usual time, you need to be really awake to press on the screen to cancel out the annoying sound. This Lumia is the best alarm clock I ever had. It's so loud and it doesn't seem to stop ringing if you just ignores it. I haven't been late for work since I got this handset. |

I'm using "alarm 5" which seems to be one of the louder ringtones, but I also take care that the loudspeaker is not covered up (which makes a big difference to the volume level).

QUOTE(ultimate93 @ Feb 22 2013, 01:27 AM) ~ All connection like Wifi, NFC, GPS, Bluetooh need to enabled deep in setting. No shortcut or bar/tray huh?? I don't need perfection, yet I expect basic convenience to use out of the box.We need to install app like Easy Connect or Toggle to easily on/off WiFi, Bluetooth, etc. Without these, the best can be done is pin Settings to the handtop. QUOTE(godhpf @ Feb 23 2013, 12:14 AM) I use one finger most of the time too. I only use two fingers to zoom & play games. Ha, luckily I don't really do games. I tried some air traffic control game on my Samsung last time and crashed so many planes... I like fruit ninja too yet became scared my finger will get shorter with all that slicing...It is while I'm playing games that I noticed weird behaviors. I was playing some old nes games using vneslight. I couldn't move properly while shooting/jumping. This post has been edited by dgboy: Feb 23 2013, 12:47 AM |

According to GSM Arena, the Lumia 720 will have a 2000 mAh battery. Makes our 620's battery look stingy.

QUOTE(gfish213 @ Feb 25 2013, 08:13 PM) that apps name 'signal finder', region US DG Engineering informed me this app and another one called Open Signal have no official status. And the information is far from accurate. Still, it's quite fun to play |

Apart from the call history under Phone, this handset has no communications log?
