Hosted at the comfy eSports hub of MyCORE Centre for gamers by gamers, SMM 2012’ in esteemed collaboration with IAHGames (Malaysia & Singapore) will showcase our top 3 flagship titles for the year – featuring WarCraft III for Defense of the Ancients (DotA), the football MMO; EA SPORTS™ FIFA Online 2, and the first-person shooter MMO; Counter-Strike Online as these high-caliber titles are showcased to the absolute limit in the highly anticipated SMM Grand National DotA Finals 2012’, SMM 1 Malaysia DotA Championship Finals 2012’, and the One Asia Cup 2012’ Grand Finals respectively. 02# Q: Can the general public/non-participants attend the entire event and will there be any entrance fees?
A: The public is always welcome to watch any of our tournaments and is certainly encouraged to do so. There will be no entrance fees, hidden charges, or invitational fees needed for fans and spectators. All DotArians, friends, and supporters are fully welcomed by SMM at all times!

A: The SMM Grand National DotA Tournament 2012: Regional Qualifiers (SGNDT 12’ RQ) is a DotA tournament catered for all DotA lovers, consecutively running through 3 regional states across the country in search of DotA talent. The SGNDT 12’ Regional Qualifiers takes place in Perlis, Kuala Lumpur, and Johor.

02# Q: What is the SMM 1 Malaysia DotA Championship 2012?
A: The SMM Malaysia DotA Championship 2012 or S1MDC 12’ for short is a nationwide DotA tournament catered for only Malaysians and will consecutively run through 10 states all across the country in search of local talent. The S1MDC 12’ state qualifiers takes place at Melaka, Selangor, Kedah, Johor, Sabah, Penang, Negeri Sembilan, Pahang, Perak, and Kuala Lumpur.

03# Q what are the differences between the S1MDC 12’ Championship Finals & the SGNDT 12’ Grand Finals?
A: SMM 2012’ is divided into two separate tournaments which is the SMM 1 Malaysia DotA Championship Finals (S1MDC 12’ Grand Finals) and the SMM Grand National DotA Finals (SGNDT 12’ Grand Finals). The S1MDC 12’ Grand Finals will take place on the 13th-14th of December, followed by the SGNDT 12’ Grand Finals on the 15th-16th of December. Do take note that schedule might vary and/or change during or prior to the event as see fit. Both of these tournaments will be held back to back at the MyCORE Centre in Cyberjaya, Malaysia.

04# How are participants selected for the S1MDC 12’ Championship Finals?
A: The S1MDC 12’ Championship is a tournament catered only for Malaysian citizens and is divided into 10 states qualifiers in Malaysia. Each team that wins 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place are automatically seeded into the S1MDC 12’ Championship Finals. The total count for teams allocated for this tournament is 40 Teams (from 10 states) where these teams will then proceed to fight in the S1MDC 12’ Championship Finals for the Championship Prize of RM 20, 000.00 for 1st Place, RM 7, 000.00 for 2nd Place, RM 3, 000.00 for 3rd Place, RM 1, 500.00 for 4th Place, and RM 800.00 for 5th till 8th Placing respectively. Apart from cash prizes, the Top 8 teams will also be given instant seeding into the SGNDT 12’ Grand Finals.

05# How are participants selected for the SGNDT 12’ Grand Finals?
A: Once the S1MDC 12’ Championship Finals have concluded, the SGNDT 12’ Grand Finals will commence, pitting the winners from our Northern, Central and Southern qualifiers (including 2 seeded teams, MUFC and Orange) forming the total cap count of 14 teams to battle it out with the above Top 8 winners from the S1MDC 12’ Championship Finals along with invitational-International Teams. The mighty crowned winners will receive the Grand Prize of RM 57, 000.00 for 1st Place, RM 25, 500.00 for 2nd Place, RM 16, 500.00 for 3rd Place, RM 10, 500.00 for 4th Place, and RM 4, 000.00 for 5th & 6th Placing, and RM 2, 000.00 for 7th & 8th Placing respectively.

06# What happens if my team have a qualification slot for the SGNDT 12’ Grand Finals won during the regional qualifiers, and we win a Top 8 spot in the S1MDC 12’ Championship Finals, granting my team an extra qualification slot for the SGNDT 12’ Grand Finals?
A: If Team A wins a Top 8 spot in the S1MDC 12’ Championship Finals, their slot for the SGNDT ’12 Grand Finals will be overwritten. Since Team A have already garnered a slot from the previous SGNDT 12’ Regional Qualifier, Team A will still be entitled to receive the stated prizes for the S1MDC 12’ Championship Finals. In another scenario, if Team A gets knocked out of the S1MDC 12’ Championship Finals before reach the Top 8, Team A will be given a lifeline to compete in the SGNDT 12’ Grand Finals via Team A’s respective qualification slot in hand.

07# Q: What is the Official DotA Map Version for the Tournament?
A: The Official DotA Map Version for a tournament can be viewed in the DotA Rules & Regulations section. Please bear in mind that a future stable tournament DotA Map Version will be used as see fit as the Official DotA Map for the event. Kindly take note that SMM reserves the rights to change the DotA Map Version without prior notice.
