gotten back my S3 yay~ But it auto updated to JB for me. So I would like to confirm if the root method still work with JB from the method at front page?
*

Still working, but Samsung did something this time! It is well talk at XDA, all phone return from service center once root will appear a red dot (I think it is this ! symbol) on top left corner when you on the phone.

QUOTE(Noobi3 @ Dec 15 2012, 09:38 PM)
The red dot is there already for later batches . Only the earlier 1 dont have it until they send it to service . Got a few frens having the red dot after rooting and they got their phones quite recently
*

Oh!...

Yalo, mine got red dot now after return from service center.

QUOTE(waveweaver @ Dec 15 2012, 10:04 PM)
Err..bro. .you mean the red dot appear after rooting or after sending to service centre. ?
*

The red dot will appear once you root the phone. As Noobi3 said in latest batch, or once you send your 1st batch S3 for service (especially after SC replace the motherboard).

From the way I read at xda..it all coz of new bootloader.
If the phone have new bootloader and you flash anything unofficial then then red dot will appear. What we can do is flash old bootloader via PC Odin in PDA section.
*

Yalo, seems was new bootloader issue, don't care la.......... haha!

Oo..man..that's really bad.  shakehead.gif
It's bad enough when Mobo goes kaput because of flashing but to died on an untouch virgin phone.. doh.gif  doh.gif
Really hope Samsung acknowledge this problems and do something bout it sad.gif
*
Yalo, Samsung shall respond now, but no respond from them yet.

The faulty issue is increasing now, and happen to virgin (non root or custom ROM) phone.

I believe all 1st batch user will face this issue, it just timing only. 1st batch hardware probably had age limit within 160 to 190 days only.... !

Actually I think it was came with newer Jelly Bean official firmware. As I read, if you OTA, then you will getting new bootloader from Jelly Bean which having this red dot issue.

Unless I'm missing out something, I cannot flash the phone, there's no form of control to even try flashing the phone  cry.gif That's why I'm stuck sad.gif Thanks for your suggestion though I really appreciate it.

ODIN can detect, but cannot push anything down to the phone. It always gives an error PIT file not available. When a PIT file is provided, it says partition failed.
*
Your phone facing same well famous sudden dead issue. Is time send over to service center. No need try using any PIT to re-partition it, as I try all I can find, none is working. Service center report was motherboard faulty issue.

I also suspect is NAND issue, but this is what being told by service center generally as motherboard faulty issue.
