have any of you guys heard about this being available in malaysia?
http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_i9305_galaxy_s_iii-5001.php

in other words, samsung galaxy s3 lte. 2gb ram, other spec stays the same. why isn't it more popular?
*
As you said, it is LTE version. We don't have lte yet bro.. So why pay more $$ for something you cant use yet..

but here got one fella using.. SamsungXP..
Very bising with his S3 LTE..

sent from a non-lte S3

can u confirm 4ever msia dun have lte?who know in few month the telco will have.then only u change phone?i pay more but i get 2GB ram.somemore i use in sg most the time.i think i pay more is worth
*
bro can grow up ah? and learn to read properly. I said we don't have LTE YET. I didnt say we will never ever have LTE. So it makes sense that people would buy the GT I9300 and hence it is more popular compared to the GT I9305 model. (that is the explanation given to the person who asked why the GT I9305 model is not popular in Malaysia)

The only reason why a person would get the GT I9305 model is so that pricks like you can go around saying "OH look I have 2gb of ram on my Galaxy S3!!" Or at least, that's the impression you're giving to all of us here at this thread.

Oh good for you, you have 2GB of ram. Whatever floats your boat man. Have fun with that.

Geez. How old are you?

Hope this helps.. http://pcsupport.about.com/od/findbyerrorm...de-31-error.htm

Anyway, it is a issue with the computer and not the phone itself. So dont have to worry about your phone. That said, can you try it on another pc and see if it works?

He was merely addressing your point that it would be no good to get a device with a certain feature when the function for same is not available yet. And I agree with him ( but not necessarily the way he put it).
*
I know what you mean bro. But it gets annoying. Look for few pages back you can see him keep on talking about his 2GB of ram. Hence the reason why I said the only reason he bought the LTE version is so that he can go around saying he has 2GB of ram and not actually mindfully trying to utilize the LTE side of the phone.

and you have to realise. S3 launched in May. Now is already end of December. Half a year old phone, of course when people buy it at that time they buy the non-LTE version because it is the official version by SME.

When LTE comes out, there would be S4 already. So he can have fun with his S3 LTE. rclxms.gif

i think its just silly to get s3 lte when we dont have it here now. 2gb ram but se lte is dual core ,rite? so for extra 1 gb ram but less 2 core of cpu.. not only not worth it ...but its just plain stupid.
*
haha. bro that is US version. but got international LTE version also. Everything same with international non-LTE version except it has 2gb of ram and LTE enabled.

But that's what I was pointing out. It's silly to get LTE S3. Unless you are planning to use it for a very very long term. For me myself, when LTE comes out, I would wait around for a while. Check and see if Malaysia's LTE is stable and usable or not first. Then only get myself a LTE phone. If not, it defeats the purpose of getting LTE phone if the LTE line itself is not good.

AND do note. our S3 specs may be the King when it was launched and may be Phone of the Year 2012. but the specs itself is getting old already..

The upcoming phones are going to have 1080p displays. and newer processors too. the Exynos processor is old already and not on par with newer chips already in terms of efficiency, battery efficiency, energy consumption, etc.
The easiest comparison you can make although I hate to say it is with the iphone 5. iphone 5's processor is not as highly clocked as our S3 but the newer chips let it work as good and efficient.

furthermore, the implementation of LTE in malaysia would take much time. telco wont go gung ho n implement all area with it. just look at back the implementation of 3g etcetera.
luckily i live in klang valley. n hoping by the time s4 come out, umobile got this area full with LTE band. lol

but to samsungxp, he always go singapore which got LTE so he got good reason n maybe we read his words in a boastful way. miscommunication maybe cause we dono his intention la
*
yeap agree with you on the LTE.

and for him, hopefully he's happy with his phone. and stop bugging us with his 2GB of ram.

Better than don't buy first. A few more days telco going to launch LTE. Better wait and see. Current s3 cannot support for LTE technology.

I like the specs. but the front reminds me too much of HTC One X and the behind is like a galaxy nexus.

EDIT: and if you scroll to the most right of the picture>>> the last picture of the phone you can see there's a sim card slot there.. shocking.gif the behind not open-able? then how to have the removable micro sd card?

If you ask me, i'd say this is someone's poor planning. Taking ideas from already existing phones and combining them to make 'concepts' of the S4.

They did not claim it to be THE S4. It is only in concept. Just one of many renditions to come for the sake of speculation.
*
My bad on the choice of words then. I thought it was. Well if it's only S4 concepts. then a lot more could be done to improve it and make it look better. Front looks like a HOX, back looks like a GNexus. Specs stated removable sd card(micro i suppose) but at the side of the phone there's a sim tray..

Woahh you got a lot of gadgets! haha. Have fun man! I also wanna get the Nexus 4 one. but the 16gb really hinders me. after minus the OS i think left 11gb. Really not enough for me cry.gif other than that it's a great phone, and good pricing too..

Izit all Sudden Death Case on S3 is on Jelly Bean?? Anyone here sudden death on ICS??

Because my friend S3 is first batch, but still on ICS, overcharge every night.. still no problem.. * touch wood*
*
Hmm. I read before somewhere someone on ICS got sudden death also.. So I guess, it is unexpected and random.. Can happen to anyone.. Even stock, non-rooted S3 also got sudden death case..

and btw, if SC replaces your dead mobo, they replacing it with the same mobo right? So meaning that after another 150-200 days of your 'new' mobo, still have a chance that it could go kaput? Then by that time, warranty period would be over already shocking.gif sweat.gif

Maybe, but the hardware rev is 1400 and above,an old one was 1100.
how much you sold for ?
*
Some of them who got back their s3 with new mobo still spotting the same rev of 1.100. Even on other forums as well, they still get back the same mobo with 1.100 rev.

So far in this thread, i only saw one person with a 1.400 rev.. That's why it is worrying.. What happens if you get back the same mobo after you got a replacement? It's like a timebomb waiting to blow up all over again.. rclxub.gif

*
yup yup, very inconsistent.. some people who just got their mobo replaced by SC also still get the 1.100 rev. While some got newer ones.. 1.400/1.500

That I have no idea, hopefully more people who recently got their mobo replaced can help out and give input biggrin.gif

"Samsung is replacing all handsets experiencing the issue under warranty, though there has been no revision to the hardware. This has led some to worry the problem will simply reoccur after another hundred days or so."

but is everyone who is facing the problem getting warranty claim? ohmy.gif
*
so far, no one seemed to be denied of warranty claim for sudden death issue. Regardless it was rooted or stock..
So getting warranty claim is not the issue here..

The real issue that is bugging me is that, why are some people getting back the same mobo with 1.100 rev and some with newer rev of 1.400/1.500 and for those who got back the same 1.100 rev mobo, what if the mobo die again after another 150~200 days. By that time, warranty period would be over. Then what next?

but then again, all this is just concerns as none of us would have reached 1 year of usage on the S3 yet. So we wont know.. But nonetheless, its a concern and it would make people feel insecure and uncomfortable.
