i have a question. starting from last year, family that has <RM2000 income needs to save RM500 in the account before applying for PTPTN whereas family that has >RM2000 income needs to save RM3000.
do we need to save money in the account monthly until it reaches RM500 or i can straight away save RM500 into the account before i want to apply for PTPTN.

QUOTE(stevanistelrooy @ Jan 28 2008, 05:45 PM) LYR, refer to my post before you posted this 2. 1 or 2 page back where I've posted a news articles from The Star. Look at the keywords. Yes, they have introduces a new scheme which is called SSPN You may refer to PTPTN website for more information regarding it thanks. if i were to apply PTPTN on June. i need to open SSPN earlier and save money every month or i can open right before i apply PTPTN and put RM500 into the account straight away? PTPTN website doesn't mention it.

QUOTE(PearlyLPU @ May 10 2008, 05:39 PM) Do not rely on the forummers for answer. I suggest you enquire the officers at CIMB. They're very friendly and we were absolutely clueless when we wanted to open the SSPN account but they'll guide you step by step. So in your case and your sis, only the officers themselves can give a conclusive answer. i've asked the officer at CIMB. you can only open SSPN account under your parents'name there even though you're over 18. if you want your own account, then you have to go to government bank like BSN, Bank Islam, Bank Pertanian and so on. QUOTE(~JK~ @ May 11 2008, 06:10 AM) Ya, plus if u register the account at cimb under ur parents' name and ur parents' salary is over 2000, you need to deposit 3000 in the bank!! But if u register under ur own name at the government bank stated above, you'll only need to deposit 500... By the way, what about maybank?? is it considered as government bank?? i'm not sure if maybank is a government bank but you cannot open SSPN account there. so, i think it's not. QUOTE(Kunikatu @ May 11 2008, 01:30 PM) I want to apply ptptn for tarc college so i went to the CIMB bank and opened a SSPN account, they asked if i was 18 years old or older then i said yes,so they let me fill the sspn form. I used my own name to open the account just that PENAMA i use my mom's name cuz the worker they said this one kenot use urs,urs ur dad or mom la. Then they only asked me to give rm20 but not rm500. How come? Then all done and the worder said the cimb bank will pos letter to u smtg lidat? Is my protocol wrong? How come they didn ask me to pay rm500? it's true. if you open SSPN account under your parents' name, you only have to deposit RM20. anyway, does the account holder only have your name or both of you and your mother/father? QUOTE(-celest- @ May 14 2008, 09:10 AM) 1. If my mother passed away, I leave all the details of penjamin 2 empty right? 2. About the SSPN account, in the form it has pendeposit, penerima manfaat and penama. Who is the pendeposit and penama? 1. ya but i think you have to provide document to prove it. 2. if you open the account under your name, then, it'll be your name for pendeposit and penerima manfaat and your parent's name for penama. otherwise, it'll be your parent's name for pendeposit and penama.

QUOTE(MayAnne @ May 15 2008, 12:13 AM) According to their website, MBB is included. However, they could have just added it in recently. http://www.ptptn.gov.my/web/english/sspn-formi saw it from FAQ section. maybe it's not updated. anyway, can i terminate my SSPN account in BSN and open in maybank instead?

QUOTE(LYR @ Oct 23 2008, 10:58 AM) nope. only secondary school principal can certify the documents for PTPTN and those government officers, ketua kampung and so on. Is this a new regulation that all the documents must be certified? Most of my friends just hand in all the documents without certification, that time they are still using hard copy application form. i'm from UTAR. all of the students there get their documents certified before handing in to the PTPTN officer or else they wont accept. we used hard copy application form as well. it is few months back. not sure about online application though. QUOTE(yukiya @ Dec 23 2008, 11:44 PM) Hi, I just received news that I've been granted RM16,000.00 for the loan. Is it a one time amount or for yearly basis? I'm really lost xD;; semester basis. the total amount of your loan divided by the number of long semesters you have until you graduate. This post has been edited by LYR: Dec 24 2008, 12:17 AM

QUOTE(lancelyod @ Jan 24 2009, 05:28 PM) No need. Actually apply for PTPTN is messy things i ever seen. B4 u borrow money from PTPTN u ad need throw few dozen of bucks. Like those stamp fees, printing, photostape.... that's why now they're having online application. stamp fees, printing and photostatting will just cost you not more than RM30 and finally, most of the applicants will get it.
