QUOTE(shelby_yong @ Dec 15 2012, 11:35 PM) its due to the stock absorber being too soft.. when u brake.. u transfer the car weight to the front.. while transfering the weight the front absorbers kenot tahan the extra weight.. hence the front of ur car start to dip.. hence creating more pressure to be handle by the brake.. tats the feel tat u cant brake in time and it is spongy..but why sometime brake makan? most d time is driving slow.. ur weight shift not that obvious.. solution ? stiffer absorbers.. told u d.. buy proton.. padan muka |

QUOTE(XCInspire @ Dec 17 2012, 04:59 PM) Ur mechanic old school jor... I never seen ppl use timing light to set the timing or distributor cap for a very long time jor... Correct and Wrong ..Fr ur wiki link... On older engines it is common to set the ignition timing using a timing light, which flashes in time with the ignition system (and hence engine rotation), so when shone on the timing marks makes them appear stationary due to the stroboscopic effect. The ignition timing can then be adjusted to fire at the correct point in the engine's rotation, typically a few degrees before top dead centre and advancing with increasing engine speed. The timing can be adjusted by loosening and slightly rotating the distributor in its seat. Modern engines usually use a crank sensor directly connected to the engine management system. Yes.. modern engine does the ignition timing thru crank sensor and engine management system. It is able to adjust advance the timing or retard the timing by doing that.. No.. you cannot simply change the timing physically on the crank.. let says the angle is different by 3 degree , the whole thing will shift by 3 degree even thou the sensor picking it up as physically it is 3 degree off.. the ECU says 10 degree but it is actually 7 degree as it has been shifted 3 degree.. small problem if the degree shift is small .. as u might loose power or cause knocking if timing is too much advanced. major issue is when the timing shift too much that the piston hit the opening valve .. then u will have very big headache... 4B11T .. in lay-man-terms . Crank pulley and cam pulley should always be installed on the correct timing groves.. |
