After more browsing, I think MSi Malaysia officially doesn't have the GT60-2OD version. I guess I'll try my luck with RS-15 then. Does anyone know what model is Illegear RS-15 based on? It's Clevo/Sager based, no? biggrin.gif

Finally!

I got my RX-17 to run with 2 SSD.

To those that have problems with their SSD, try to update Intel RST to the newest version. I did it for mine and now it works fine.

Anyone know a good dealer/reseller in KLCC area for Illegear? I'm really thinking of trying this RS-15 myself after I got my paycheck for this month. nod.gif

It depends on how it is configured. Two SSDs in RAID0 configuration is faster than One SSD in Cache Mode.

The reason that I didn't do it in RAID is because of the problem that I had just resolved.

Do I want to use RAID? There are pros and cons to using it. Main cons, for me, in using RAID is the data could be lost easily if one of the SSD in the array failed.

Maybe when the 1TB SSD become more reasonable then I will use RAID. biggrin.gif

True, that is one drawback of RAID0. If you were working with large amounts of data then you could see some benefits of RAID0, but nowadays SSDs are so fast that you might not notice the difference of SSDs in RAID0 and normal SSDs. I remember on one of my work platforms, I configured a RAID0 with six HDDs. A single HDD is roughly 40Mb/s in sequential read but on RAID0 with six HDDs it went up to 430MB/s in sequential read. Stick with normal SSDs for now.

Well maybe next year prices will continually drop. Look at the M500 which is about RM2000+/- for the 960GB and now Samsung has the 840 Evo out and might compete for pricing against the M500. Nice things to look forward to. biggrin.gif

True on the price. And heard also that Samsung has just invented 3D NAND.

Technology is moving so fast nowadays. Though, if there is 512GB mSATA, that could be a viable upgrade right now. biggrin.gif rclxms.gif
