ILLEGEAR RX-17 is rebranded from which Sager model?
*
It's using the same chasis as Sager NP9370, but with haswell platform and without the weird wing logo on touchpad.

you can actually type 'clevo P157SM' rather than sager's ones.

never mind, i done a search for you. clicky
*
Our RS-15 is built on P150SM, reason we don't use P157SM/P177SM and P375SM are

1. The weird wing logo cannot be turned off, it sync with middle part of the laptop.
2. P150SM/P170SM and P370SM are lighter than P157SM/P177SM and P375SM.
3. P157SM and P375SM don't look good comparing to P150SM and P370SM.

However we still accept pre-order for P157SM/P177SM and P375SM as per special request.

so they are older version like the P150EM and P170EM do, right? i thought you will be using the newer model as well. tongue.gif

edit - but its still a good thing that P177SM can be requested. i generally like the P177SM than P170SM. anyway, its still paint customizable like the P170SM do, right?
*
P177SM can have colored chasis no problem.

hi...im pretty noob in this kinda thing. whats the difference between mSATA SSD drive and primary SSD drive?? if i choose one WD hdd and one mSATA SSD.. which one will become my primary drive??..  icon_question.gif
actually i would like to have 1 SSD drive as my primary (to install windows, microsoft, software etc) and 1 normal WD HDD as my secondary (for games, music, videos, files)....can anyone help me suggest these combination for RS-15?? thanx..
*
mSATA SSD is small version of SSD, takes up less space, use less power and lighter. Performance wise primary SSD is still better.
We usually install OS in the fastest drive unless otherwise requested.

The combination of storage drives really depend on personal budget. If you have limited budget I recommend to get WD 500GB 5400rpm + Crucial M500 120GB.

if im not wrong, it is due to the weight of the distributed by the heatsink. the RE series graphics card shares a heatsink while the RS series have dedicated heatsinks. material of base laptop does matters too. hmm.gif

actually all keyboards are the same. the feedback during typing is more important. but i am confident to tell you that both the RE and RS keyboard is nice to type on.

Prince J mind to elaborate? correct me if im wrong. notworthy.gif
oh, and yes. is the W230ST replacing the R-11? probably will have R-13? drool.gif
*
Heatsink + GPU contributes to the 0.4kg difference. RS-15 chasis is also different than RE-15.

Yes we will have it stay tuned.

well asked. been wondering if these are IPS or TN panels. hmm.gif
*
RE-15, RE-17, RS-15, RS-17 and RX-17 are TN panels.

TN = lower response time, smaller viewing angle
IPS = higher reponse time, wider viewing angle

TN is better for gaming, IPS is better for photo editing.

QUOTE(erszebeth @ Jun 14 2013, 02:41 PM)
what does "Display featuring 95% NTSC Color Gamut" means? and why only 95%?
*
Quoted from our facebook page

"IPS doesn't necessarily mean they are better than a TN 90~95% NTSC gamut screen. You'll want to check what gamut range they cover and if they're talking about sRGB, aRGB (most common) or NTSC (highest gamut). A 90% aRGB coverage screen is not as much colors as a 90% NTSC color gamut. IPS monitors tend to have better viewing angles and better color accuracy but tend to be slower in response time. So if you're looking for graphic work like Photo Editing go with IPS, but for gamers TN panels are usually better since they tend to have a lower reponse time."

95% NTSC Color Gamut screen can reproduce 95% of NTSC color gamut.

FYI, the default panel has only 72% NTSC color gamut, normal laptops selling in the market have about 60% to 72% NTSC gamut too.

Hi Prince J,

Thread title almost gave me a heart attack. Been waiting for the 13.3in for quite awhile now.

Can you at least share the rest of the specs? Im interested with the weight.

If 2kg and below, then my money will be yours so fast, maybank2u will have to be shut down for maintenance.

as for me, the thing that bothering me is to choose between re-15 and the upcoming clevo w230st.

both equipped with the same spec. i plan to get w230st but wonder how does the heat management inside. as you can see from the pics of w230st, only one exhaust from the whole notebook, as opposed to re-15, got 2 standalone heatsink and fan for both cpu n gpu.. if w230st cooling system is good enough, i wont think any longer and get pre-order from illegear asap..

the w230st design is indeed very nice. much better than AW14-r1 lol..
*
RE-15 and RE-13 are the same, equipped with only 1 heat sink and 1 fan for the system.

QUOTE(cae1982 @ Jun 16 2013, 09:29 AM)
the way you say it...  wasted 4 day labor hours ??? "maybe a better way to phrase it is spent 4 days on it"  well if you think you're not at fault and you've done your best. kudos on you. well i'm the one with the blue screen laptop after installing the drivers and spent hours trying to resolve it whilst being overseas and yea paid money in cash for it.... so go figure out whose time was really wasted.....

I was using windows pirated to test on which os I should install. btw I fly to overseas a lot .do you know customs check laptops with a thumbdrive?? so I will install an original software I just haven't decide which one that's why I use the pirated version.
you want to tell the whole world that i'm using pirated??? go ahead I have my reasons for using them for the time being.
if it was a driver issue... in the future there will be more customers like me having problem good luck in dealing with them....or maybe it was a lemon set....
either way I wouldn't know...

no matter what i'm not apologizing for wasting ur time....in fact I will be thankful since you said you spent 4 days trying to fix it... but I did get blue screen and install and reinstall and ran the stress test and I wasted my time.... please don't say anything that will aggravate me unless u want me to start a  new one with pictures of blue screen and steps I took to install before I get blue screen...and how many blue screens I had....

BTW super soon is a friend of mine and I don't know why you must mention about me on the email between you and him???? you have to remember he placed the order simply because I told him I got a new laptop from illegear and he cancelled because I told him my laptop got sent back after 2 days I don't know what's wrong with it. I installed the drivers from the cd and then blue screen and also they didn't bother to give me the cd for the wireless network card and they couldn't provide me on site service support which left me 1 week without a laptop..

ok fair enough we have some altecrations and we argued on the phone. i'm very busy so I don't even wanna comment any further.
I hope I won't have anymore problems in the near future.
